Deja Vu. I did exactly the same thing with my 1st generation Wave Radio in 1995. Like all electronics not made for scuba work, if you don't open the case and start blasting it with a hairdryer in the first few minutes of getting it wet your main circuit board is toast. When you turn it on does it make a rhythmic electronic death rattle sound? If yes, corrosion has destroyed the circuitry.
I don't know if the Bose of today is the same Bose Culture as when I fried mine but mine was 2 months past warranty. I took it to my local repair shop who told me they'd have to replace the main circuit board. Very discouraging but they told me Bose was very responsive to lovers of the product and if I wrote them a letter they might take pity on me. I wrote a letter extolling my love for the product (It was all true. I'd been looking for something non-jarring to wake up to for months before I bought this thing). No BS. I sent the letter and about a month later they sent me a letter with instructions for returning it to the factory and an RMA number. They replaced the main cicruit board for free and returned it to me. It worked flawlessly until 2009.
It's worth a try, but I mean it, send an Old School snail mail not an email. It makes a difference. Good luck and sorry. It's an expensive piece of equipment.

My tv has a blank screen,a small amount of water was spilled on it

It doesn't sound good. Make sure you unplug it to prevent the possibility of further damage. You may luck up if you let it set for a few days and dry before you plug it up and you can also try the old hair dryer on the area where the water may have entered the TV. Best thing is let it sit several days in a dry room to let the moisture dry out before you try it again. If it doesn't work then you may see if your homeowners will cover it. It may be worth a try.

Acer laptop doesn't power up after water spill

As I'm sure you are now aware , electronics and water do not mix. That said, Remove ALL power IMMEDIATELY if you get water in /on a laptop. If the power is removed , battery, AC, you can try and dry out the spill, otherwise the damage is done. How much damage I can't say, only a qualified computer tech can ascertain that.

I spilled liquid on my HP Probook 4320S (with spill resistant keyboard). Dried it up straight afterwards. Now it won't power up

Take it to a service shop asp, key board will need to be replaced, and the laptop will need to be assessed for motherboard damage.

My laptop is only a month and a half old. It got accidentally wet and it is turning on but the screen does not come on. It is an Acer Aspire 5250. I believe the computer is aired out and dry now.

In most cases, the problem is going to require significant dis-assembly to dry out the computer and get it working again. Depending on the liquid involved the damage can be minimal or severe! If it was just water with nothing else in it, then getting it dried out within a few hours will likely have no affect on it, provided of course it did not sustain damage from being shorted out. unplugging it and removing the battery IMMEDIATELY is the best choice to prevent significant damage. Since the liquid can get into areas that simply are not going to dry out until evaporation occurs, it is best to not delay and remove as many access covers as possible and try blow drying it. if the water got into the screen, this is not going to work and the screen will have to be dismantled.
If the liquid involved ANYTHING other than water (soda, coffee, sugary, etc) the damage that can result from continued exposure to these substances WILL do permanent damage if not removed within a few hours of the initial spill.
You will be surprised how many little spaces that water will go that simply will not dry out until exposed.
The last laptop I worked on had coffee spilled on the keyboard. The entire main board, processor and several tiny socket connections were saturated and letting it air dry would not have helped.
I suggest taking it to a professional for service and repair. I also recommend ANYONE buying a laptop, get damage warranty coverage just for reasons like this, its definitely well worth the price.
You can expect the repair on this to be easily more than the cost of the damage warranty.

We spilled water on top of the keyboard of an acer aspire one, when turning on there is a beeping sound and won't boot up

You're going to want to let the machine dry for a while - take out the major components (HDD, RAM, Battery, etc) and let it air dry for as long as possible. Check it carefully for corrosion after that - you'll want to check the battery terminals, ram contacts, etc very carefully, as they'll be easy places to spot corrosion.

After the machine is thoroughly dried, it MAY power back on. If so...use it to check up on your warantee, because you really want to go ahead and get the motherboard changed out if you can. It's really the only answer. Easy sources for replacement motherboards is ebay

I spilled part of a bottle of water in my pocketbook. The battery recharged fine, but the camera is not getting power and is stuck in the "on" position, with the lens out. I haven't tried...

IMMIDIATELY put the camera ( with all cards/batteries out, slots open) in a bowl of rice for at least two weeks. I did this with a badly water damaged iPod Touch , and it is now in perfect functioning order.

Hope this helps! PS: don't wait until it soaks into the electronics, it can be fatal to your camera

My daughter spilled water on her IBM Thinkpad - she's dried the battery and everything looks fine, but it won't even power on.

HI there,

Spill damage to a laptop often short curcuits the motherbaord inside and often ruins it. There are some vendors on eBay who offer a flat rate service where they guarantee that if they canntot repair the spill damage, they will return the laptop with NO CHARGE for the attempt.

I've used several of these vendors anit's about a 50% recovery rate so far. If they CAN repair it, they'll give you a quote qhich could be from $125 to as much as $250.

Go to eBay and in the searchbox type in "Laptop Motherboard Repair" and look through the auctions/vendors to find one like I described above. Otherwise, your only option is to find a local laptop specialist (like I am in my town) and get a price for buying and replacing the motherboard.

Best Regards,

Grandson spilled glass of water on top of tv and it poured inside the tv. We let it set for a couple weeks to dry out. Earlier today it came on picture & sound but when channel was changed it went off....

Was the tv on when water spilled on it? Or on standby? I would guess it does not matter now. I do not like to even try to repair a tv with water the problem can go almost any where. Really and truly your best fix for headaches is to replace your tv. Some may argue this but I know best.

Water spill on laptop

Shut it down, unplug the battery. The water is shorting out some of the circuits and leaving it on may cause more damage. Put it in a dry environment for a couple of days, you can also try a hair dryer (be careful not to get it too hot) to speed the drying process but the water is inside so it will be hard dry. A small room with a dehumidifier going would be great. With time it will evaporate and if you are lucky none of the components will be damaged.
