I think it is like my 500 scrambler if it is, look at the rear axle, there are 2 bolts back there That I believe have 5/8 heads on them. Loosen those and then look to the let and there are 2 bolts that hold the brake caliper on, they have 1/2 heads on them loosen those. The axle if like mine will have what looks like a big bolt head on the left side. Take a big wrech, pipe wrench will work if nothing else and turn it one way or the other. One way loosens the chain one way tightens it. After you have the chain tight, re- tighten all the bolts and you're done

The crank has to be removed to tighten the nut that holds the gear on. I assume that is your problem is with the chain gear on the sproket that is loose
