It displays either code 59.51 or10.92.02 not engadged

It's likely either a bad Cyan cartridge or ribbon cable pinched. This is what I found on DepotTechSupport (so the solution isn't mine, just the searching) :-)

10.92.YY CARTRIDGES NOT ENGAGED
10.92.YY CARTRIDGES NOT ENGAGED The print cartridges are not engaged correctly. YY Description: 00 Black 01 Cyan 02 Magenta 03 Yellow 1. Open and then close the front door. 2. Make sure all the print cartridges are seated correctly. 3. Turn the printer off and then on. 4. Inspect each cartridge lock-lever (on the right side). Open the front door and remove all cartridges and the ETB. Then use the ETB holder on the right side to move the lock-levers up and down. Replace the cartridge lock if it is broken. 5. Inspect the right side cam. This piece controls the movement of the cartridge engagement arm, the cartridge shutters, and the OPC drive. You can inspect this piece without taking off the covers by wiggling the white rod arm on the right side of the ETB. If it moves easily, the part is broken and should be replaced. 6. Inspect the ribbon cables. Folded or damaged ribbon cables can cause a short that generates an error. 7. Inspect the cartridge guide rails to see if any are damaged. 8. Upgrade the DC controller firmware. 9. Clean the contacts on the memorycontroller PCA. 10. Verify that contact is being made with the E-label PCA on the print cartridge. Replace the print cartridge if the Elabel PCA is missing. 11. On the DC controller, make sure that connectors J1022 and J1023 are seated correctly. On the driver PCA, make sure that connectors J201 and J401 are seated correctly. 12. Check the gears on the print-cartridge drive motors. Replace defective motors.

The print carriage travels along a thin plastic ribbon cable which is normally attached at either end of the print area by 2 metal 'pins'. This ribbon cable has become unattached at both ends. I see how to...

You have to remove most of the casing to access the workings. It is a tricky job as bits all plastic, click together with push fit plastic locks, and of course an occassional hidden screw.

The printer just says initializing and doesn't do

There is a ribbon that should be securely-attached to the back of the print-head -- if it has broken-loose, then the print-head will not move, even when the ribbon is moving.

Take the printer to a qualified technician to confirm this diagnosis,
and to evaluate whether the printer is "fatally" broken.

Bought used HP 2410 from Amazon. Unit is displaying print cartridge problem on far right cartridge. Unit came with ink cartridges installed and I notice ink has spilled. I performed a detailed cleanup but...

Remove the right cartridge and check if the spring on the right came loose. When it pops out of position it tears a hole in the ribbon cable at the back of the holder and then you need a new printer. If you can find a carriage assembly it's over $200.00.

Black ink cartridge not regestering?

Hi, can you remove the cartridge and carefully clean the cartridge contact area in the back of the cartridge housing with a q-tip dipped in alcohol. Also check the ribbon cable leading to the cartridge for any damage or looseness at the connections. Do the latter first and you may not have to do the cleaning.

Black Cartridge will not print.

Flex ribbon cable at the rear of the housing that the balck cartidge fits into is probably punctured. It happens a lot with this model. Remove the black cartridge and look at the electronic ribbon in the rear where it contacts with the cartridge contacts. There is a spring tension wire in the housing that holds the cartridge snug that breaks loose and punctures the flex ribbon rendering the printer useless as there are no part available to repair this HP defect. It is a well known defect / poor design flaw in this machine.

Fax printing problem

The blue release lever that holds the ribbon cartride may be cracked or broken. The crack may be so fine, that it's not easy to see, so look carefully. Even the slightest crack will cause the ribbon cartridge to fit loosely enough so that the roller is not touching the paper. Whatever side is not printing, that's the lever that you should look at. That's what happened to mine. I was ready to buy a new machine, until I found that solution. To test it, I tried to copy something while pushing down on that side of the ribbon cartridge, and it printed fine--the whole page. I looked more closely at the lever, and found the crack.

HP 7310xi: "Remove and Check Printer Cartridge on the right"

Sounds like the carriage is broken on the black side. Pull the cartridge out and take a look at the silver metal piece. Is it loose from the side and if so did it punch a hole in the circuitry that cartridge comes in contact with. If I were a betting man this is probably your problem. You have to replace the whole carriage. This is a pretty common problem with the carriages that use the #96 and #97 cartridges.
