Probably due to a good cleaning is needed or a worn out blower wheel. To get into these you take the door off and that will allow you to get the front off remember the door is reversible so you will have to remove screw on both sides. once the front is off you can take the hooks off that hole the top down and raise the top. then you remove the shroud and tub and give it good cleaning. Their are numerous videos on youtube that show how to disassemble the machine. Like I said look for a bad blower, lots of lint, and things like that. Also check your vent piping to outside. I have a slopeface dryer service manual on my foggy facts page.

BAD MOTOR WINDINGS OR DRYER OVERHEATING:

Heating Element
A defective heating element can make a dryer too hot. If the element partially shorts out, it can produce heat all the time, regardless of whether the dryer is calling for heat. Remove the heating element to inspect it. The coils should not be touching each other or anything else.

Other Causes and Conditions
Air Flow Problem
Dryers need good ventilation to work properly. If the vent is clogged it can make the dryer too hot. Clean all of the vent tubing thoroughly.

Cycling Thermostat
Although not common, a defective cycling thermostat can make the dryer too hot. The cycling thermostat is supposed to turn on and off the heat to maintain the proper temperature. If the thermostat is defective it may keep the heat on too long. The thermostat is not adjustable or repairable, it must be replaced.

Felt Seal
Most dryers have a felt seal at the front and rear of the drum to keep the heat inside the drum. If the felt seal is worn away or missing, the dryer may keep heating and make the dryer too hot. This is not common.

Blower Wheel
A defective blower wheel will not spin properly and will not vent the hot air, making the dryer too hot. Check to see if there is adequate airflow out of the dryer.

If the dryer runs the same as before except it will not get hot then check your heating element that is more than likely your problem.

No heat in dryer

Hello there Here are some ideas that may help you
- Things that could stop a gas dryer from heating:
- glow bar igniter, thermal fuse ( not all models ), coils on the gas valve, gas valve, thermostats, motor heat switch, timer, selector switch, sensor.
On the back of the dryer near the fan blower housing is a thermal fuse, if this opens up ( no continuity ) the gas burner often quits but the motor will still run. If the thermal fuse is open/bad, always clean, change, adjust the venting system and vent hood first and clean out the dryers air ducts. Sometimes it is a good idea to replace the operating thermostat at the same time.
Thermal fuse parts help link...on blower housing cover, can not be re-set, must be replaced if is open (no continuity between pins).
hope this is very helpful for you

best regards Michael
