Check its flat cable [LVDS] connection between T'Con and panel for any loose contact. Re-seat it once, and check. If you wish to get more details, check this site linked below. Called ghost lines or banding. I researched on toshiba thread LCD screen bad. I have same problem purchased HL196 4/07 problem appeared 1 year and 9 months ago no extended warranty. If still under warranty call toshiba. LCD screen more expensive then orginal price of TV. Should file class action lawsuit for selling defective screens. Lot of people having same problem. goforth2953

I have this same problem with my 52 inch toshiba regza , The repair shop has said the cost of repair is as much as it is to replace the TV. I am past the one year warranty, but less than 2 year ownership, so Toshiba won't fix the known issue. Solution is don't buy a Toshiba

Typical repair bill for LCD TV flat panel repair is $200~300 range.
It sounds like the porblem with failed T-C0N board.

The only logical solution for the problems people are having for the toshiba regza's tv's is to get into a class action law suite..., they contiue to sell tv's with defective parts and refuse to help the customer that spent large cash to find out they last if your lucky 2.5 years, they are junk and anyone with one will soon find out./.......
