Bottom oven does not heat up, top oven works

4 yo unit, Control board only one yo The bottom unit stopped heating up one day and it just sits at "100" without heat. The top oven still works. I have tried turning the circuit breaker off for 10 minutes but it does not seem to want work. This was a suggestion my the maytag people when the control board went out last time.

The bottom ignitor was broken and just got it fixed last week. The repair man said it did not show a lot of wear from the outside. We do not use this oven extensively so I am pretty frustrated with it. We have replace the electronic board also in less than 5 years, so I am starting to wonder about Maytags. The "Maytag" man has been busy here.

same problem bottom oven goes to 100 degress. the gas does not come and you can hear an audible click up at the electronic display at the top of the stove. Tried unplugging the stove in hopes it might just need to reboot. no luck. yes the range is just out of warranty. of course.

I have the same problem. The ignitor seems to glow but it seems to be only the center. are the outside edges supposed to glow ? The gas never comes on and I do not hear anything.

I had the same problem! First my top oven would not pre heat, then the bottom oven stoppd working, The repair man replaced the ignitor in both the top and bottom. It worked for about a year. Now my top oven is not working again. I'm beginning to wonder about Maytag appliances! If this a part I could purchase and install, where could it be purchased and what steps are needed to install

The most common problem for your description is that your bottom ignitor is not working properly just because the ignitor glows doesnt mean your ignitor is working it has to draw 3 amps or more to ignite the bottom burner part number for the ignitor is 12400035 let me know how you make out

Will just replacing the oven element fix my Kenmore model 911.955879range oven? It sparked, broke in two and a white flame continued going around the element, wouldn't stop I had to shut breaker off.

Hello Jennifer;

My name is peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

Good for you - turning off the breaker.

You have a older oven. Usually there is a spark or crack in the oven element. In your case the element was so embrittled it broke into 2 pieces.

Before you use the top range burners to be on the safe side you need to disconnect the oven element. You may have damaged the oven control board to where it is locked into power for the oven.

25713262-01ium3bsyoj5ql4fhv4kpwvp-4-0.jpg 1.) Remove the bottom drawer to reduce weight.
2.) Put a rug on the floor in front of the oven, so when you pull the oven out it does not scratch the floor.
3.) Pull the oven out so you can get behind it.
4.) Unplug the unit.
5.) Remove the back bottom cover.
6.) Disconnect the heating element and remove from oven.
7.) Rap the two loose element connections in the back with electrical tape.
8.) Follow the element loose connection to the control board at the top. Disconnect at the oven control board.
9.) Inspect the loose wiring from the control board to the heating element for burns or melting.
10.) Plug the oven back in and turn on the range burners.

The part number for the oven element is WB44T10014. Sears wants about $95.00 for this part. Search the internet for this part number and get it for about $28.00.

Your oven control board may have become damaged. Recently I replace one for a friend. Sears wanted $256.00. I got a remanufactured board over the internet for $30.00.

Get back to me and let me know what is going on.

GE bottom freezer stopped cooling

The unit needs two fans running and good airflow, one fan outside cools the condensor coil and the other inside the unit blowing across the evaporator. The compressor must start up. The defrost timer stops everything and switches on a heating element to defrost the evaporator for several minutes. Please verify these conditions.

GE bottom freezer stopped cooling sporadically every 1-2 days then cools again with no intervention. Unit is 5 yrs old.

Put the old board back in. See what it does, from your post, sounds like it was working correctly.

Frigidaire double convection wall ovens, model GLEB30T9DSA ... The top oven will not heat, both the bottom element and the broiler.....

I have the Frigidaire PLEB30S8CCA single wall oven. About 3 months ago the baking element appeared to have gone out. We replaced it, but still didn't work. We ended up sending our control board off to a company named Corecentric. They fixed the problem and returned it to us. The oven has worked perfectly ever since. I searched extensively for a new one, but no one sold them anymore. I found Corecentric on Ebay. They were able to confirm over the phone that it was more than likely a control board issue. It cost about $130. My husband was able to do it himself by taking a couple before px and using them when reassembling it.

Dacor bottom oven not heating

I have a DACOR double electric oven model ECD230SCH. the top oven lower element went out 1 and 1/2 years ago, but the top element broiler works. Yesterday the bottom oven did the same thing- bottom element not working along with convection. Pulled off doors and cut breaker. Checked thermal switch on top off oven- closed good. Pull out element and Ohm'ed out- good. Now pulled over and out oven top panel to get to the control boards. Found a nice set of schematics for the over control boards and electronics. Sat down and pin-pointed both relays that supply power to upper and lower oven "lower" heating elements. these are on 2 different boards- upper over relays on bigger board on the left with the transformer. Lower oven on the right smaller board. Hardest pain in the rear was just getting the little plastic stand offs to push back through the board to get it off. Finally got it off and inspected board. Low and behold the relay I pin-pointed had a burn/open connection on the solder joint. Re-soldered tested oven and lower oven lower heat element works now! Went to the next board and got that off and same exact problem on the rely for the top oven lower element. Re-solder and test- good!! Put everything together and ran over to 350 on top and lower and back to normal. Wife very happy she did not have to pay a repair man big bucks to swap out the control boards- would have had to replace both.

I have a degree in electronic technology so as a technician for many years did low and high voltage component level repairs. But pretty easy and you can visually see the open solder joint on the back of the board at the relay leg.

Bottom oven doesn't heat after running self-clean cycle

Usually, when an oven won't heat, it's because the bake element is burned out. The bake element is the black, pencil- thick tube at the bottom of the oven. When the oven heats, the element glows red. This element has an expected life-span of several years. It may last for only one; it may last for many more. When the element burns out, you need to replace it.

Top oven will not heat up

Had a similar problem. The overheat sensor had failed to the open position and the oven control would light up and you could set the temp, but it would drop to 100 degrees and then go blank.
