Hello,
Restart your computer and tap F8 while it's restarting. Once you see the options to boot to safe mode, then use the arrow key to highlight it and hit enter.
Try your keyboard inside safe mode. If it does the same thing, then Remove the keyboard and clean it.
If the keyboard works fine inside safe mode, then do a system restore to a date when the keyboard didn't have any problem yet.
Click Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.

I hope this helps!

SOURCE: keyboard

Solution #1, Go to RUN type in 'msconfig'.
In startup uncheck MotiveSB.
Try to reinstall the keyboard driver. Solution #2
Sounds like it may also be dirt or some spilled soda.
-- Had the same problem after an OJ spill. --
If you feel comfortable about removing the keyboard, disconnect all the wires and cables, then give the keyboard a thorough washing. Then let it dry overnight.
If that doesn't sound like something you want to attempt, then you will have to take it in to a computer shop.

Examine your keyboard to ensure your "Number Lock" key is not activated.

This activation is indicated by the key being lit up.

If the key is activated, press it to deactivate the lock.

The number lock key will deactivate an entire segment of your keyboard

Start, click Run, and type regedit to open the Windows registry editor.

In the registry, open the below folders.

When typing on my hp laptop my keyboard skips letters

The letters that are left out, are they constantly being left out? Push each letter while in notepad and check to see which letter/s are not working.

It is likely that your keyboard is worn and needs replacing. See a computer technician or claim warranty support.

Take care!
