Question about Computers & Internet
In 2010 February my small business rented a shop premises in a shopping mall. we moved in on a Saturday whilst the landlord was finishing the painting and tile installation. on Tuesday when we went to pick up the keys from their workers, All our equipment had been stollen. that meant we cant open for business. we promised they will investigate and check the cameras. nothing came out of this and we were not compensated and was told we should have had an insurance before moving into their premises. this was in 2010 and we paid rent for a month after that. we were then told by the centre manager that he will 'lock us out' and list us on TPN. We then did not go to the premises again since November 2010. we have been Billed every month since then. I have sent Emails and sms to their accounts people to no avail. today the outstanding Rental is about R140 000. water and lights R40 000. they just keep sending us the bills every month. their details are Gemini Trust in Blu Valley Mall. our company name is Stand Computers cc. the Landlords Name is Charley.

Actually, you do not want to reduce the product name. When you make the deposit from PayPal, you want it to be for the full amount the customer paid. Then add a second line with a minus amount for the fees, and the account of paypal fees (expense). This way, you split off the fees paid to paypal as an expense, and the bank reconcile matches.
Attempting to reduce the ProductName will only result in tax liability issues, as you have to charge sales tax on the full amount the customer was originally charged.
Using a negative line on the deposit to split the paypal fees off is a much cleaner process, and causes no confussion for the accountants.

I had the same problem but it was with Simply 2007 running on a Windows XP computer. One day it just said "username and password are incorrect" even though I had just used it the day before with the exact same username and password (I am the administrator). I Googled all kinds of solutions to try, and finally this one worked. I simply did a Windows "System Restore" to the previous day. Once I did that, Simply Accounting allowed me to log in again. Therefore it tells me that the problem is one of two things...either the Windows database engine...or with some sort of Windows Update or other program update that interfered with the login process. The likelyhood is that it's a Windows system file involved in the database engine that was corrupt.
If you don't have automatic System Restore setup on your Windows computer however, then you are out of luck. The only possible solution (I haven't tried it) is to copy all the Simply database files to another working computer that "hopefully" doesn't have the same corrupt system files, and try to install and run the program and database from that computer, it may work.
