Need more info? It would be helpful if we knew the HP model number and the OS you are using. Can you clarify your question?

Safe mode when os missing

Safe mode is booting the computer without the drivers. It works with the OS. Not present when no OS is installed. You must go to the bios setup and ensure usb is in the bootup chain. Hd1, DVD, USB.

How do i install a software for windows xp on my windows 7

Most of the softwares for Microsoft Windows XP are compatible with latest Operating Systems (OS) of the same company. So you can try to install the software through the installer.
If the installation fails with error you should understand what is the reason.
If the reason is incompetibility with the OS you may consider to install Windows XP Mode on your Windows 7. You can download Windows XP Mode from the Microsoft site. This is the link to the page. You should choose the options from the drop-down menus according your system (32 bit or 64 bit).
Then you will have the oportunity to download Windows XP Mode and Virtual PC.
After installing these softwares and restarting the computer, you could enter Windows XP mode and install your XP based software. I hope this helps you. Good luck!

My toshiba a75-s209 it wont reboot? when i try to go safe mode it turns off and it goes back to safe mode start normal ect? can you help?

Hi
This problem is either the OS or the Hard Drive
in most cases its the Os a corrupt file or a software that load on the startup if you have this problem on the safe mode then you should try to install the OS and if while you install the OS you will have a problem than its the hard Drive
if you want to fix this problem let me know

I installed anew harddrive(windowsXP 4600c O/S) (...

If you are installing the new OS from the disk drive you have to direct the motherboard to boot from their first. While in system setup (F2) arrow right to the boot sequence menu and toggle the choices till you have cdrom at the top followed by HDD, and finally USB, if there is no diskette drive I would just disable it. Also you can toggle off OS install mode.

My computer do not accept the cd to install the software for sdr-h40 hdd camcorder, i get a message saying do not support the software

What OS is the computer running? The software isn't guaranteed to work with 64-bit Windows. (Windows 2000 through Vista are tested. Win 7 is an untested OS)

If you have Win7, you can try running the software in the compatibility mode. Right click on the Installer (.exe) and choose Properties. Click on the Compatibility Tab and check the box for Run this program in compatibility mode and use the drop down menu to select Vista or XP. Then right click again on the installer and choose Run as Administrator.

Another option is to run the software in a virtual computer running a supported OS. Win7 Pro and Ultimate support the XP mode which needs two programs downloaded and installed from Microsoft. Otherwise you need a licensed version of the OS to install in the virtualization program. Then install the camera software inside the virtual computer (as if it was the only computer).

I hope this helps.

(also note that the software does not run on some dual boot systems and may not run properly on multi-CPU systems. Updated software/drivers do not seem to be available on the Panasonic support site.)

Computer is only working in secure mode.

Backup if its working in safe mode, and after, repair or reinstall OS and always remember to install antivirus. you could also download a tool called combofix, run it fron safe mode and after repair your os.

I installed a printer and soon afterward a message came up and said critical error windows will restart. It did but now i can't log in normal mode. Only safe mode works I've tried the system restore thing...

you will need your installer for your OS, try to repair it but if not work, then you will need to re-install your OS as a FRESH COPY, meaning to say all your files will be deleted.

the cause for this problem is that the software you use is conflict to your OS

I have installed a new gigabyte motherboard into an existing system and now I can't get the computer to boot properly...I can get into safe mode but not regular mode

Try running the OS installation disc and try to repair the OS or re-install the OS. The hardware change has caused the OS to not boot up. Was this a computer like HP, Gateway ect? There may be a problem because the installed OS is designed for hardware that came with the computer. Now the OS thinks that it was installed in a computer other then it came with. You could try booting in low-res mode and maybe dis-able the start up programs when in safe mode. Worst case you will not be able to use the current OS and will need to format drive and install a different OS.
