Demonstration mode won't stop!

I just got this system installed. It's constantly scrolling that demo mode display junk. I've followed the instructions in the manual (several times), and I cannot get it to go away???

I tried that, and it still won't work. The instruction manual shows the same image and instructions you posted, but I still have that annoyingly LONG message scrolling across my deck unit. Any other ideas?

The instructions suck! First thing is to press the MENU button
at the top left of the face plate then the SRC button as outlined
in the instructions. This little player really does work well.
Good Luck.

How to disable the demonstration (DEMO) mode.
Article ID: 42707 ' Last Updated: 03/11/2014
Sony® stereo systems will enter the DEMO mode the first time you power on the system or if you do not operate the unit shortly after turning on the power to the system.
To disable the DEMO mode, while the stereo system is powered off, press the DISPLAY button repeatedly until the demonstration display disappears.
NOTES:
  • Depending on your model, some units have a DEMO button that is used to disable the demonstration mode. If your unit has this button, with the power to the system off, press the DEMO button until the display disappears.
  • If applicable to your unit, setting the clock on your stereo system will also disable the DEMO mode.
  • Using the buttons on a supplied remote control will not disable the demonstration mode.
If model-specific information is needed to complete any of these steps, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product. Manuals, Specifications and Warranty information for your Sony product is available online.

The reciver is stuck in demo mode. Can`t get it out of demo mode.

The demonstration will activate the first time you turn on
the power. When the demonstration starts, the following
message appears in the display:

“NOW DEMONSTRATION MODE IF YOU FINISH DEMONSTRATION PLEASE PRESS POWER KEY WHILE THIS MESSAGE APPEARS IN THE DISPLAY THANK YOU”

To cancel the demonstration
Press the Power 1/0 button to turn the receiver off while the above message is being displayed. The next time you turn the receiver on, the demonstration will not appear.

It's in the manual - page 3.

Sony LBT W5000

According to Page 46 of the LBT-W5000 Operating Instructions:
"The display stars flashing as soon as you plug in the power cord even though you haven't turned on the system (demonstration mode).
Press DISPLAY (for LBT-W5000 / W300 / XB700 / XB500) or DEMO (STANDBY) (for other models) while the system is off. If the system is in the Power Saving mode, press POWER SAVE / DEMO (STANDBY) (for LBT-W5000 / W300 / XB700 / XB500). The demonstration appears automatically the first time you plug in the power cord, or if there is a power outage lasting longer than half a day."
I tested this today, as my LBT-W5000 was in Demonstration Mode. It definitely works. The only catch is (at least on the W5000), and it's a minor one, you have to reset your clock afterwards.
