My compaq presario wont let me see my tabs, it will not show if i bring thre mouse to the bottome

By tabs, I assume you mean "taskbar". On your keyboard is the windows flag....between Ctrl & Alt. Hitting that should make the taskbar pop up.
You can then change your settings to keep the taskbar always visible.
If you taskbar is not longer on the bottom (on the side), click & drag it to the bottom.

Bar on the botton

Do you mean the Windows taskbar? Right-click on any empty spot on the taskbar, select "Properties," then deselect "Auto-hide."

Windows start bar has completely gone

Sympton

You cannot see the taskbar (which contains the "Start" button) anywhere on your desktop.

Causes

  1. The taskbar may be hiding at the bottom of the screen after being accidentally resized.

  2. If the presentation display was changed, the taskbar may have moved off of the visible screen (Windows 7 and Vista only).

  3. The taskbar may be set to "Auto-hide" (Windows XP with Service Pack 2 only).

Solutions

  1. Put the mouse pointer on the bottom border of your screen.

    • If the pointer turns into a double-arrow doublearrow.gif, click and drag upwards.
    • If your taskbar isn't hiding at the bottom of the screen, try moving the mouse to the right, left, and top edges, looking for the double-arrow.

  2. Press the Windows logo key and the P key on your keyboard to bring up the presentation display mode options.

    • Make sure "Computer Only" is selected.
    • Use the arrow keys to toggle between options and Enter to select the correct display mode.

  3. Press the Windows key on the keyboard to bring up the Start Menu

    • Right-Click on the taskbar and select Properties.
    • Toggle the 'Auto-Hide the taskbar' checkbox and click Apply.
    • If it is now checked, move the cursor to the bottom, right, left, or top of the screen and the taskbar should re-appear.
    • Repeat step three to return to your original setting.

My start menu shifted up iwant to bring it down

1. Right-click on your start menu and un-check "Lock the Taskbar". 2. While holding down the left mouse button, drag the taskbar to the bottom portion of the window (or where ever you want it.) 3. Once it is in place, Right-click on your start menu and check "Lock the Taskbar".
Hope this helps :)

I want to bring back the task bar back to its place that is in the bottom, i have done according to the instructions but no use. please guide me.

is the taskbar hiding or located on one of the sides or on top? If you can mouse over the areas and see the taskbar then you just need to right click the taskbar and go to properties and change it.

Missing task bar - running vista

Sounds like explorer.exe is not running:

1. Hit Ctrl + Shift + Esc at same time.
2. Windows Task Manager should open.
3. Hit File on top menu.
4. Select New Task.
5. Type explorer.exe and hit OK

That should bring your task bar back.

No Taskbar

The taskbar is always running in Windows Vista. Unlike Windows XP, it can't be unlocked and hidden unless the 'auto-hide' feature is turned on. If 'auto-hide' is on, simply run your cursor along the bottom edge of the screen and the taskbar should pop-up.

To disable auto-hide, after moving your cursor to bring up the taskbar, right click the taskbar and click properties. Then under the Taskbar tab, uncheck auto-hide.

If auto-hide is off, it may indicate that explorer.exe is not running/has crashed. In order to restart explorer.exe you can either
1) Restart
2) Press CTRL+Shift+Escape, File -> New Task and then type in explorer.exe and run
