To reset the scanner to factory defaults, turn off the scanner. Then, while holding down 2, 9, and HOLD, turn on the scanner. All scanner memory contents are erased.

Memory problem

You should be able to right click and "format" drive. This will clear all data on the disk.

SD Card Full

When you install a larger SD card it will be a fresh empty memory card. Your existing 8Gb SD card will still have the the 5 hour gig data on it.
You can insert the 8Gb SD memory card into an USB memory card reader and plug this into the USB port on your computer. The computer will see this SD memory card and adapter as an external storage device. You can then open the audio folder on theis SD memory card and copy this file to your computer.

Recover data

Could be that you accidiently erased the contents in which they can be un-erased.
Try using Norton's Unerase or Norton's File Recovery Unerase. I haven't tried Norton's with a jump drive myself, but it's free and they can be downloaded at:

or may be a defective jump drive cause by a static spike (or whatever) in which case the data is probably gone.

I bought this usb it was either a 16 or 8gb and when i plugged it in i set up the password and everything but when i insert it again it said there was only 7.95mb on it and ive never saed anything

> it was 8 GB

> there was only 7.9 MB

Do you really mean 'MB', not 'GB' ?

Some USB drives have an "emulation" of a CD-ROM programmed into it; the emulated CD-ROM contains a few MB of "setup" files, e.g., file-encryption software, or one-click-backup software.

Downloading photos message says format this memory card. Will that erase the photos on the card?

Yes, If you are getting the message then it will erase everything you have stored/saved on the memory card.

There are few possible reasons for this message.
1. Your memory card is full and does not has enough space to store new photos.
2. Your memory card is not fully detected or recognized hence it is asking you to format the card before downloading

There is simple solution to diagnose and find out the problem for both the reasons.

Click Start
Click on My Computer ( or Computer )
You should be able to find the Memory card drive and you should be able to open it
If you are not able to open and view the contents then your PC has not completely recognised the card.
If you are able to view the contents, your memory card is full and does not has space for more photos to store.

Hope this is helpful

Sandisk 8gb cruzer not working

Bring the Sandisk cruzer to any computer store that offers data recovery and back up or data retrieval. We called them the Data Recovery Center.

Most of them has a software they use in cracking passwords and other secured programs. From their computer, they could actually back up your important files saved in your Sandisk. Then you may now reformat your device.

Hope this helps and have a great day!
