SOURCE: Toshiba 42H82, no sound after fixing hyperboard.

Search for the audio amplifier - it's a chip with a radiator on it - the jack for the speakers should be close by.

Why does my 40" element TV have sound, but no picture?

could be many issues. Take a flashlight and hold it right against the screen. Can you see a picture? if so the lcd is working but the backlights are not. If that is the case you could have bad power supply caps on the 24 volt section, a bad inverter board, or a bad ccfl lamp itself inside the back of the screen

I have audio, but no video, what's up? last night I was watching, and the picture went out, I truned off the TV, then restarted it...the picture came back. Today I tryed to turn it on and no picture, just...

s the audio coming from the TV's internal speakers, or from an external sound system? In the 169 series chassis, if the power supply caps or secondary rectifier are bad, or if the high voltage splitter has shorted inside, the set will not run and there will be no picture or sound from the TV. If the picture is completely black but the TV still has audio, press the menu button and see if the menu comes up on the screen. If the menu is there, check your cables on the back of the TV. If you are using a cable or satellite box, the box could be bad or the video wire could be bad or loose. If you do not get the on-screen menu, then I would guess that the solder joint next to the flyback transformer that sends filament (heater) voltage up to the picture tubes has cracked, or the low value resistor in the heater circuit has opened up. If that is the case, have the set serviced by a qualified tech familiar with the 169 series chassis.

My Hisense tv power light is blinking. No picture or sound.

set is either not getting out of standby or is in shutdown because of a problem inside.

First place to look is the power supply board--follow the power cord inside as it goes right there first.

A quick look will tell you if for example you see puffed up caps what your problem is.

These caps are puffed up and that means bad--if this a fairly inexpensive fix is possible.

If you find this and want to know what to do make a comment here.

I have sound but no picture

Always unplug the TV before you start....:)
On the Sanyo DP19648 has sound and NO picture.Take the TV apart locate the power supply board on left.Remove the plugs for the lights etc.take out the screws carefully unclip the power supply.Turn it over find the F1 tiny chip fuse locaed off center to the left with metal sheild away from you.I used a 2 amp (bc fuse unknown)I broke an agc style standard fuse and used the wire that was inside the fuse and also replaced the slightly bulged 220uf at 25volt cap which is located top side not far from burnt fuse.I suspect the fuse blew bc of the small orange bulged cap.
From Ed the tech....good luck
