my IDE master drive failed, so i went to buy a new drive. i was advised to get a SATA drive as my motherboard has two SATA1 and 2 slot on it. when I finish installing the drive, i found out that the CMOS doesn't pick up the SATA drive, yet it is listed at the raid array list in the BIOS.
i couldn't install windows as well as setup said there is no disk present
how can i boot from the sata disk as it is the only drive i have with two CD room attached at the IDE2 bay??? .my mother board is : MSI PM8M3-v (MS-7211), the bios is phoenix award BIOS.
how can i disable the raid array as well in the BIOS???
HOW CAN I BOOT MY PC FROM THE SATA DRIVE?
If you only have one SATA drive, you do not need to have the RAID setting turned on in CMOS. RAID is only for 2 or more SATA or SCSI drives. Shut that off and try again.
