PROBLEM WITH FUJI FINEPIX E 510

The camera had been working fine (I bought it 2 years ago, but the other day the screen got white, well, not white but like if the screen had got the brightness to the maximum level, which I haven't done. As a matter of fact, in order to read the menu I increased the brightness to the maximum. I have taken the batteries and the memory card for a while, I have formated the camera, but still the same. ¿Is any way to fix it or do I have to take it to get repaired? Thanks

I have a E510 for 3 yrs, suddenly I can view images, Etc but the screen goes blank, the lens extends but no image appears and the camera 'locks up.' I have to remove the batteries to switch it of.
Replacing batteries i can switch on with the same problem.

In the most cases like your description, is because of sand in mechanical parts. The sand make to stuck the mechanical parts of zoom.
You have to take out the zoom , pull out the motor drive and open the zoom to clean with a toot brash and a spry with hi pressured air Next time when you take pictures on the beach, try to cover the camera when you not used. Usually I charge 15 to 20 USD to clean a zoom part but the shipping cost are to expensive and most cases is not worth. If you live in europe , maybe shipping cost to Romania will cheeper. Check your postal charges and if you think is worth to send the camera, contact me to [email protected]

So if you adjust the brightness up or down it stays the same- is that right? Looks like a component failiure, if nothing happens. You will have to check out Fuji for repair costs -can be pretty heavy

My fuji fine pix z1's flash doesnt work. i dont even remember it worked ever. the pics are blurred most of the time

1) Check you're settings are all on "Auto".
2) The button you press to take the photo is a 2 stage button. Press half way, if you're gentle you should feel a slight resistance. Pause at this stage, just for a moment to allow your camera to focus properly. Then proceed with the action until photo is taken.
3) It takes a little practice to get used to it, but with any luck you photo's should be crisp.

4) If this doesn't work and you bought it less than a year ago, take it back to the shop and comlain.

Fuji finepix s3000

This is an easy possibility, Try using an eraser on all the contacts for the batteries. The ones on the battery door and the ones inside the camera. Try to get them shiny, the harder white erasers work best. If that doesn't solve to power problem, the camera may have blown its power fuse internally. That repair would likely cost 50-60$

Flash problem

Same here. Any flash picture comes out nearly bleached out. Started from one picture being fine to the next being white. I'm very frustrated because I love this camera. I have a Digi Rebel and prefer my Fuji 5000! Anyone have any ideas?

White screen

Set camera to playback and see if you get normal quality pictures. If not the CCD sensor is faulty ( or of course the LCD screen may be faulty ) and camera will be replaced since it is new.

Picture is almost completely white...

This is a CCD/processor problem for the still image side. Fuji Technical Help team will advise what your next moves will be.

White Screen

I have Fuji FinePix 2650 Digital camera with same problem. I can almost guarantee this is not a firmware problem. I went mountain biking a few months ago and take pictures. I take out camera and turn on. I get lines then white screen. I banged on camera and fixed it. Later a few weeks ago I turn it on and white screen. i beat this thing and get bad menu selection screen for a moment then white again. It takes pictures well and talk to computer no problem but no LCD picture. I thinking it is loose connection for LCD. Send it for repair or if you seek adventure try to fix it yourself!

Faded screen with lines across screen

hi Jenredd, i think there is something wrong with ccd, if so it is serious... . I experienced some disturbed picture on lcd or whole black lcd due to ccd problem. As u said you pictures are fadded it means may be ccd is damaged. If so you have to replace the ccd at any authorised repairer for fuji. as you mentioned other problem there is nothing common between both. for that i suppose there is some problem in either usb socket or cord , so first check the cord, if it is ok then we can doubt on usb socket. But in both the way you have to go to Fuji . good luck
