SOURCE: i need a chuck wrench/tool for a duracraft drill press

Are you talking about the chuck key? That's the little wrench with a collar of gear teeth on it.
There are only a few standard sizes plus a couple of odd-balls. Last time I looked, Sears carried a good selection. If you have the old one, take it with you to the store. If you don't have the old one, find a way to measure or approximately measure what you need. Another chuck key that doesn't fit can be a useful reference. If you can find something (maybe a drill bit) that is a close fit into one of the three holes in the chuck, that can be useful too.

I looked at a schematic and owners manual for a 17-950, COULDN'T find the one you listed and if I am not mistaken I believe there is a collar holding the rack in position and if you snug the table or somehow keep from falling you can loosen the collar and using the height adjustment move the rack so you can remove it. BUT I also found a dedicated help line that I would suggest calling first about this and the number is 1-800-223-7278.

You don't have a lot of options. The manual is not listed here:
http://www.clarkeservice.co.uk/product_manuals/metalworking_drill_presses.shtml
(Clarke International.... there is not any other manufacturer website)

Try contacting Clarke here:
http://www.clarkeservice.co.uk/contact_clarke.shtml and request an owner's manual / users guide.

I searched every retailer that had the product listed for a downloadable manual. (no joy after 90 mins)
If you purchased it locally and there is another CLA-BT1029 model around I would ask for a copy of the manual. I understand now why you came to FixYa for help. The manual just is not out there in .pdf format.

This is not a solution yet but some info as to what your up against. Duracraft was purchased by Honeywell in 1996 and then sold to Kaz Incorporated in 2002. Here is the Duracraft disclamer from Blain's Fam and Fleet that has exclusing distribution for Duracraft tools today

NOTE: Duracraft products purchased prior to 2000 were not made for Blain's Farm & Fleet, therefore we cannot provide replacement parts, warranties or literature for these limits.

Your best bet would probably be a by chance listing on e-bay for the product 40830 drill press and then contact the seller for a copy of the manual.

If you have the 5 speed model the table number is BT1000-0005 and you can go to Clarkeusa.com to order this part. That is where I found the breakdown for the tool. Let me know if you need more assistance.

The power switch for my Clarke drill press has burned out. I need to get a replacement. I have been unable to contact anyone at Clarke. Is there another source available?

depending on what model you have you can go to Clarkeusa.com and look at the schematics, the switch for the 5 speed is BT1000-0020 and for the 16 speed it is DD16102010B, you also have a contact point on that website. Let me know if you still need assistance and I will try and find a good phone number for them.

I don't really have a problem, I bought a used Clarke Metalworker model BT1001A and I need a manual for it. Can I get one from you? If so, how much? Demi skypilot2@sisterlakescable.com

Most drill presses are very similar and simple. Here is the parts list for yours and here is a manual from Pioneer that shows several models. You should be able to follow the instructions for the Pioneer model that is similar to yours. Compare the parts lists if you encounter differences in the details.
