Question about Ubi Soft Petz: Dogz 5 and Catz 5 Compilation (008888682295) for PC

Open Question

How do I install the game with windows 7?

I just bought the CD for the Petz 5 compilation and would like to know how to install it on my PC, which is running windows 7. I know there's problems with the resolution, as I have seen other places on the internet, but if someone could please give me some sort of step-by-step description on how to actually install the game properly so that its compatible, then I would be truly grateful, thanks.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Firstly, open a folder. You need to click on 'Organize' >> 'Folder and Search Options'. On here click on the 'view' tab, then check the box for 'Show hidden files and folders'. Click OK on this.
Next go onto C: and click on your user name, then click on AppData.
In here, click on 'Local' >> 'VirtualStore' >> 'Program Files' >> 'Ubi Soft' >> 'Studio Mythos' >> 'Petz 5' >> 'Adopted Petz'.

Here is the file path if you need it:

SOURCE: Distorted Dog in Dogz 5 Vista

I had the exact same problem and I searched everywhere on the net to try and find a problem with no avail. Then I thought of something and it fixed it!

Change your screen resolution to 1024x768

That's what fixed mine.

You can go higher. The maximum size I can get mine to before it gets distorted is 1360x768.

This is on Vista by the way.

I hope this helps.

Check that you are running in compatable mode. Since Windows 7 is so new not all programs run properly so you should have a link to run the program in a compatable stage. If not check and make sure your program is compatable with Windows 7. You may have to reinstall the program and you will probably get a message to install in a compatable mode. If you do make sure you install in that mode then the program should work. Windows 7 is like when they first came out with Windows Vista there are a few bugs that they are still working out and that is probably what is causing the problem.

How To Fix A Non-Loading Problem On Petz 5

I have written this so many times, that I decided to make a tip out of it so I dont have to keep answering the same question over and over.
To fix the problem when your loading thing doesnt load fully, and it comes up with an error message, you need to follow these instructions.
a)Save your petz to a flash drive, or CD or floppy disk. NOT to the computor as they will get deleted. (this step is only if you want to keep your petz)
b) Uninstall and click "No" to "Do you want to save your petz?"
c) Install again.
d)Put your petz back on your game, by putting the Flash Drive/floppy/CD into the computor and copying the petz files into the petz folder. (if you kept your petz)
e) Play the game from My Computor, Petz 5, Play.
You will need to have the disk in whenever you want to play for e) to work.
If this doesnt work, ith saving your petz, skip steps a), and d).
Hope this tip helps. :D

Petsz was working fine... in about a week .... it stoped working and thid came up while it was loading petz 5 has stopped working a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close...

The only way to fix that problem (that i know of) is to uninstall Petz and click 'no' to i dont want to keep my petz. You will lose all of your petz.. but it doesnt wqork if you clikc yes so yeah.. Then install it again, and instead of using the game shortcut thats on ur desktop, go to My Computor, and click on Petz and play it from there.
Hope it works for you. :)

Have you turned off any virus protection/spyware protection before you re-installed? Make sure the program is uninstalled in add/remove programs. Check for any spyware or viruses on the machine. Let me know what happens. Good Luck, Tim
