SOURCE: Maytag French Door Refrigerator with ice and water on the door

See the post on Samurai Appliance Repair Man's site for instructions on how it's possible to fix the HV Controller Board power supply filter caps for $5 in Radio Shack parts (really!). You need to be able to solder electronic components, or know someone who can. There are 2 power supply filter caps that appear to go bad and the result is the blinking and flapping. I had the same problem and decided I could not wait for a $150 replacement back-ordered board.

SOURCE: blinking board and flaping ice door

I had the exact same problem. Maytag sent me a new main board which fixed the problem. It is pretty easy to install and is located behind the fridge behind a metal panel.

SOURCE: ice flap door won't close - Freezer and ice maker frost up

Every time you use the ice dispensor , when the flap opens , cold air will fall inside the enclosed dispensor cover . This cold air , mixed with the warm outside air , produces moisture inside the cover . After so long , this moisture starts turning to rust , causing the solenoid and plunger to rust . G E has no "fix" for this problem yet . My suggestion , would be to drill holes in the bottom of the dispensor enclosure (white plastic enclosure , held on by 4 screws ) at certain points , so that the cold air will fall thru the cover , instead of staying in the enclosure . This is something I have to try on customers refrigerators for a while , before I send this Idea to G E . To answer your question , yes , I is normal to replace every couple of years ,.....for now anyway .

SOURCE: Water is pooling under the

The cause is probably a stopped up drain line. Here's how to fix it.

Remove all the food and shelves from freezer section. Pull refrigerator out away from wall and unplug the unit.

Now that unit is unplugged and the freezer compartment is empty, remove the automatic ice maker if you have one installed. This is done by using your quarter inch nut driver or socket wrench. Remove or loosen the two screws above the ice maker that holds it in place, next remove the bottom screw, it is most often a Philips screw (although it can be any combination depending on manufacturer). Slowly pull ice maker towards you and to the right. You will see a wire harness that connects from the ice maker to the back wall of the freezer. Remove the wire from the back of the wall.

Most likely the wire harness connection that connects to the back has a small tab that locks the harness in place. Simply with your finger, pull the tab gently toward you and the harness will slip out of the connection. Now remove the screws from the back plate of the freezer, again these are probably quarter inch hex head screws. Pull the back plate out and disconnect the wires from the evaporator fan motor. You may wish to write down where the wires are connected, draw a picture of it and write the colors of the wires, it really isn't too hard to remember where the three wires go. Now totally remove the panel from the unit exposing the evaporator and the drain pan.

Most likely the pan has ice in it. This can be caused by some small object covering the drain hole. Use the hair dryer to melt the ice, you may want a towel to mop up excess water. Once you have melted the ice look to see if you can find the object that has stopped up the drain. It could be a small bit of food or Styrofoam. Now that ice has been melted, take a small cup of bleach and pour it slowly down the drain hole and wait to see that it goes down. Now slowly pour warm water down the drain as well, if it goes down great your drain line has been cleared. If this does no work and the drain line does not come unclogged follow the next step.

Take your small piece of hose or rubber tubing and put one end down the drain hole. Placing the other end of the rubber tubing / hose your mouth blow into the drain until you hear the drain line clear. You may need to wet paper towel around the tubing at the drain hole to form an air tight "gasket" so that the air forces the clog out. once drain line is clear again pour a small amount of bleach down the drain hole. Most likely the drain has been clogged with alga or "slime growth" and the bleach will kill the alga growth.

Replace the back panel remembering to connect the three wires to the fan motor. Reconnect the ice maker making sure the ice maker is level. Plug the refrigerator back in and you are done. If you have a side by side or a bottom mount freezer the steps will be the same, just a little harder to do.

Whirlpool refrigerator is leaking water

If the water is pooling around the bottom of the fridge I would pull the fridge out and pull the panel of the back of the fridge and check to make sure the black plastic drain pan is in place and the white or clear plastic hose coming from the bottom of the fridge is aimed at the drain pan, if they are not then that would be why you have water pooling up under the fridge. Generally the Walter gos into the drain pan after defrost and the heat from the discharge lie of the compresser evaporates the water and it should never overflow. Hope this helps

Kitchenaid kbfs25ewms2 freezer leaking water

Normally I would agree a water line is the issue however on this particular fridge this is not the case. If you open the freezer door, notice the placement of your hand. Unless it is dead center of the handle this is the cause of the problem and what I believe is a major design flaw. Depending if left or right handed, every time the door is opened the metal tracks that hold the door are being bent. If you remove the bottom freezer basket you will notice the back support bar that is attached to the metal rails is not longer straight. What ends up happening is, certain times when the door is pushed closed it seals completely and other times it does not. The times it does not, there is inch gap between the rubber seal on the door and the fridge itself(left or right side). The freezer warms up and items start to melt. As the cycle of freeze and thaw continues you end up with the entire basin full of ice. Eventually when the door does not shut properly and the ice melts it has nowhere to go expect your floor. This is why sometime you will have a pool of water and sometimes you won't but it always leak from a corner. Learned this first hand and ending up ruining 30sq of hardwood floor

Why is water pooling under right crisper?

On defrost refrigerators water is drained down the sides to an outlet on the bottom of the interior of the unit and then to a tray under the unit, close to the floor, where it is heated and evaporates.
If he hole inside is plugged then the water will pool inside.
Take out both crispers and try to find the location where the water will flow out. It may be plugged with gunk The inside bottom of the unit may have indented runs where the water will be directed to the outlet.

Our napoleon stove barely heats the room it is in and it is new first year used,,

Try this....before starting the stove, place a handful of pellets into the burn pot. Start stove with feed rate about 2-3. Let the pellets ignite fully, then turn pellet rate to about 5, less then max. Let a good flame develop for 5 minutes or so, then turn on the fan. I set the fan at about 3-4 as advised by the tech. Reduce feed rate to about 4. I keep my damper on 2 1/2 to 3 to supply air intake. Napoleon is not the greatest stove, and I'm having an issue with mine after 3 years, but hopefully this helps. It will never give the heat of a wood stove, but get a strong fire going first, then tune it down after the room gets warm.
