Remove main battery and try again, if nothing! check power adapter for correct voltage, If okay! sub out the ram memory one at a time and test, still no change! the DC jack is often the source of trouble and the laptop will need to be dismantled down to the motherboard level, the DC jack will probably need resoldering.

There was not a listing for 4000 so I used 4100.
You can reset the form if you need.

these error stands for DC controller pcb.

Few possible solutions:

• TURN THE COPIER OFF AND ON
• RECONNECT ALL CONNECTORS ON DC CONTROLLER AND OTHER PCB'S
  
• REPLACE DC CONTROLLER PCB

this could be happening for a few reasons but the most common is that its probably not charging.

before checking anything else, plug your 4000 in to a known good charger, then press and hold the power button for up to ten seconds till it starts.

if that fails, its likely not charging

this is very common problem with this and many model magellans.


the following magellan 2000, 2200t, 2500, 3000, 3100, 3140, 4000, 4040, 4050 and the 6000 are known to have faulty dc connectors...if your magellan gps is not charging or will not power up, its most likely the dc power port...

its probably not charging...very common problem with this and many others.

make sure green light is on the car charger and let it plugged in for awhile, then hold the power button (upto ten seconds) until it starts..if that fails

the following magellan 2000,2200t,2500,3000,3100,3140,4000,4040,4050 and the 6000 are known to have faulty dc connectors...if your magellan gps is not charging or will not power up, its most likely the dc power port...

The problem is that the lower fusing roller has shorted out and it may have shorted out the DC- Controler. Did you resently replace the lower fixing lamp. If yes it is wise to replace the dc- controler at the same time. A suggestion from a Canon tech pub... Good Luck....
