Question about Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U 42 in. LCD HDTV
How do I get my PS3 to hook up to a computer moniter I've already tried the sync button with the power... The moniter is supposed to be digital. when i turn it on it says Digital input self test feature check... and if you push the menu button it says auto detect Digital then it says analog input... but that's not right Input My cable is HDMI to VGA. it is a DELL moniter, I know it works and is not shot.

SOURCE: Digital Audio Output on TV
When using HDMI as the source, the Dolby Digital data will NOT be passed through. If you switch your cable box or satelitte receiver to PCM audio it will pass that through.

I have a Sharp Aquos 46" and go a Comcast HD receiver as well, and had the same problem turning off the Closed Captioning. I order to turn it off you need to go into the box user setting by (starting w/ the cable box and tv on) pressing the power button for the cable box then the menu button for the cable box. This will open up the user settings menu. Just toggle CLOSED CAPTION to DISABLED.

This set MAY require or have available a software upgrade for this issue.
Contact Sharp to see if they have it or if this is an issue in their database that is common.
