Have you got the wires connected to the correct voltage D/C outputs.
What interface are you using to send the sound ( If you are using one ) If you are ensure that you are on the correct channel and the the device is sending sound. (This may sound silly but make sure you have the volume up and that you don't have headphone attached, It happens to the best of us)

My panasonic dvd stereo system sa-pm91d when the volume is turned above 25, it plays distorted sound, it sounds like I have incorrectly tuned a radio channel even when using the auxiliary input

Hi Gusma,
If you have Distorted sound.
These may be the causes of the problem:

  • Make sure the speakers wires are properly connected.Check the color codes, be sure they are rightfully followed.
  • - Shorting (bare wires touching) of positive and negative speaker wires.
  • - Using speakers with an impedance lower than that rated for this unit.
  • - Straining of the speakers through excessive volume or power.
  • - Using the unit in a hot environment without proper ventilation.
I am also including a link to the User Manual. Read it thoroughly.
Best of Luck,
JP

I have 2 good qaulity heybrook speakers and have tried everything to connect them properly such that both play sound when the tv / dvd is on. Both speakers work perfectly one at a time and both work...

You're guessing. That is exactly the wrong thing to do. Get the manual.

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Kenwood-VR-205-Receivers-manual/id/480ci174/t/2/

"[D]vd 6 channel input" is for a 6-channel analog input as the name implies. I doubt you even have a source that HAS 6 analog channel outputs.

Speakers are OUTPUTS of the amplifers' speaker posts. Any one can work ANYwhere.

And that bi-wire capability, IF the speakers have it - pretend it isn't there.

The green light is flashing and the sub is not working but is not blown

Sounds like possibly the Amplifiers built in protection circuit is active

If you know the speaker is good then check the speaker wires an make sure none of them are shorted out or pinched somewhere touching the metal of the car... if you are using the factory speaker wires then try a new wire ....

worst case scenario could be short inside the amp? but you can easily tell if that is the problem by disconnecting the speaker wires from the amp to see if the light stops blinking

Hope this info helps but cant be exact without knowing what type brand / type Amp you are using

The amplifier power ligh comes on but the sub woofers wont play what could be the problem. I hooked up a different amp and it worked just fine.

Even tho the power light is on doesnt exactly mean that the amp is sending signal to the speaker wires.... sense everything else is working make sure to check your fuses on the amp and also check to make sure that the amp is "receiving" an input from the RCAs

Lg lht854....wont play sound out of rear and center speakers

Try setting it first on surround mode because it is normal for the rear speakers not to come on when it is the surround mode is off. For the center speakers make sure it is hooked up properly. Follow the instruction if you have one. Lastly I never heard of center speakers have two speakers in it but if it does and you only have one set of wire to it then one of the speakers is no good.

I had to clean my computer of dust and in doing so i un hooked all the wires and dont know where most of them go

YEAH! those are always fun,

you cant put a plug where it does not belong.

for internal wires, make sure the one attached to HD is plugged into the port with "PRI" written next to it, the rest will fit where they belong. if your reconnecting front pannel wires see the manual, you can download one from the manfacture.

any specific device on the inside?

for external wires (video, sound, keyboard) they should be color coded. the keyboard will go into the round purple port (unless its USB then just plug it into a USB port). the Mouse will go into a round Green port (again same thing with the USB). the monitor will only plug into the port that it will fit into. speakers tend to favore the light green 1/8th inch barrel jack, though i have seen some use the black one. mic is almost always the purple 1/8th inch barrel jack. (1/8th inch barrel jack is the same used for a MP3 player to connect to head phones)

the easiest way to find the speaker is to play some music then play pick a hole till speakers play sound.

Cant hear my cable channels through my surround sound...

Hello, i just saw your post.. i know this reply is so late, and you might have probably found a solution. But i will still give you some guides to help you figure this out.

(1) First and foremost, make sure your connections are set up properly (exactly as in the manual). most HDTV'S require a DIGITAL OPTICAL CABLE to be connected from TV to receiver. Read the manual on your TV and see the required wires for external audio

(2) go to your TV audio settings. Get to the speaker option, and turn it off ( this assumes your expensive TV is an HDTV). By turning it off, you signify that you want the sound option to come only from the speakers.

Hope it helps
