Question about Roper REX3614KW Electric Dryer
I Have a frigidaire laundry center, and the dryer stops working after a minute or two. It does heats and everything but like a say after a minute or two stops working. Then, i have to wait 5 minutes or more to turn it on again. I have the specifications located on the inside of the back cover, so if it helps: Frigidaire 120/240 volts Hz 60 Motor: L1-N 7,0 Motor L2-N 5,0 Heater: L1-L2 3 Kw Model: LC-3 Serial: 80GF 0817 So my question is: what can i do to fix this? and also will my dryer work on 120 only and still heat?

look in the vent line for a small disk shaped overload with two wires coming out of it. it may be bad. also check for a lint build-up in the exhaust line out of the blower. check the damper outlet going out of the house for a build-up of lint.

SOURCE: Roper Dryer heats for 5 minutes
Thanks for the reply........I figured out the problem........the type of vent hose I bought was metal flex.......(I hate those things.....when you start to install them if you're not careful they start undwiding and come apart before you can get them properly installed).....anyway, someone had pushed the dryer a little too hard up agains the wall and smashed part of the vent hose.....and that dent was enough to pinch the exhaust off, and consequently the overheat element would shut the dryer down.......unkink the hose, clear the exhaust, and back in business.......

The heating element is either gonna work or not work. Some things you can check for is air restrictions. If all of that is good and you still have problems your timer might be on the way out.If the timer turns out to be ok AND all the components in it are fine then you could have an electrical problem. The motor runs off 120 volts or one side of the breaker. The heater needs 240 volts to fuel its powerful 5000 watt element. This ready gives the breaker a beating and cause the timer contacts to arc.

Hello Philip, I appreciate your inquiry!
Based off the information you have provided you need help with replacing the belt on your Frigidaire laundry center. In order to access the pulley you would need to disassemble the laundry center. I would recommend seeking assistance from a professional technician for proper disassembly of your laundry center. Incorrect disassembly could cause personal harm or future issues within the laundry center. Best of luck! -Matt

Thank you for your inquiry, Caroline!
From the information you have provided your Frigidaire laundry center is no longer working. I understand that you had to shut off power to your house and now your laundry center is not coming on. It sounds like you could have a possible short within your timer. I would recommend performing a reset on your laundry center and you can do that by unplugging the power cord for roughly ten minutes. If you continue to have issues with your dishwasher can you provide me with your model number? In order to locate your model number you can find the serial tag and that should be located on the inside wall of your dishwasher. I look forward to assisting you further. -OOS
