There are two things, try function+F9 AND check in your "services/drivers" and make sure it's not disabled.
also look for any symbols on keys that look like the 10-key pad, and click that key.

How can i lock the keypad?


Hi Eliza,
Enabling and disabling the embedded numeric keypad
Press fn+num lock to enable the embedded numeric keypad. Press fn+num lock again to return to standard keyboard functions.
NOTE:
The embedded numeric keypad will not function while an external keyboard or numeric keypad.

F buttons description


F1 - Security System

Press and hold the "Fn" key on the lower left-hand corner of your Toshiba keyboard.

Press the "F1" key to activate the security system.


Your laptop's screen will go blank so others can't see what you are working on or accessing.

Press any key or touch the touchpad to exit the security mode.


F2 - Power Save Mode

Press and hold the "Fn" key.

Press the "F2" key to activate the Power Save mode and make changes to how your laptop handles operating on battery or AC power.

F3 - Standby Mode

The Standby dialog box will appear.

F4 - Hibernation Mode

Try Fn + F9 to enable keypad.

You can also do it through the control panel.

How do i remove the dvd rom from a toshiba sat pro a 10 laptop


Hi
you need to lift out keypad, one screw under there that holds it in place
gently unclip the clear black panel between the peakers, remove the 3 screws plus metal pate in middle. so easy once you get there, Lol
The silver metal plate that goes over keypad has a screw on RHS that you undo then slide out the ROM

Touch pad not working


just restart machine in bios setup ckeck that touch pad option is set to enable. and also check some of the laptop has one switch on keypad or on the top of touchpad for on/off utility is set to on

Num Lock key must be off. I can't log in using my 4 digit code. How do I turn on the Num Lock key? It is not marked.


It is one of the function keys, it will have a keypad symbol on it.
On my Toshiba it is the F11 key.
Try the Fn key + F11 key to enable the numbers, press the combination of key again to turn off Num Lock

Keyboard letters 'm,j,k,l,u,i,o' permanantly locked for numerals. i have no idea how i switched this function on.


NumLock is on. Look for the Fn key in the lower left corner, and lookint in the top right, the NumLock key.

From Dell user manual:
The numeric keypad functions like the numeric keypad on an external keyboard. Each key on the keypad has multiple functions. The keypad numbers and symbols are marked in blue on the right of the keypad keys. To type a number or symbol, press <Fn> and the desired key after enabling the keypad.
  • To enable the keypad, press <Num Lk>. The keyboar2.jpg light indicates that the keypad is active.

  • To disable the keypad, press <Num Lk> again.

How do I use Dell inspiron 1300 keypad?


If you are referring to the Number keypad.
Tap the "Num lock" key and you will see a light flashing.
Make sure the light is on when you stop.
Now try the keypad.

Within the settings there is an auto lock feature that you can enable to make your phone lock automatically after something like 10 15,20,30, seconds or a minute. It should be under keypad settings
