Why after installing webroot on my hp pavilion with windows 7 I can not connect to Internet it says " unable to connect to proxy server" ?

The anti-virus has set up a firewall which has disabled your internet access. Go into your Webroot console and go to settings and firewall and set it to make an exception for incoming network connections.

Some malware install their own proxy to divert you to different websites while you surf the web. First make sure your system is clean and malware-free, then just disable that proxy setting by unchecking its checkbox.

I can no longer access mail2web.com on my laptop. I get a message that says "windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings".

may be a proxy server problem if your using windows then By using your Windows VPS as a proxy server you will get the best performance and have the most control over the proxy. Setting up your Windows VPS to work as a proxy server is simple, all you need to do is install proxy server software, such as CCProxy, and add a rule to your firewall.

Proxy setting 130

Exactly error: "Unable to connect to the proxy server
A proxy server is a server that acts as an intermediary between your computer and other servers. Right now, your system is configured to use a proxy, but Google Chrome can't connect to it.
Here are some suggestions:
If you use a proxy server, check your proxy settings or check with your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working.
If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server, try the following steps: Go to Wrench menu > Options > Under the Hood > Change proxy settings > LAN Settings and deselect "Use a proxy server for your LAN."
Error 130 (net::ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED): Proxy server connection failed."

Error 336 (net::ERR_NO_SUPPORTED_PROXIES): Unknown error.

Make sure that you have the proxy disabled in the lan settings: Top right wrench tool button --> Options --> Under the Hood --> Change Proxy Settings --> LAN Settings --> Uncheck use Proxy server for your LAN. Hit okay. Close Chrome, open it back up and see if that works.

I've installed Explorer 8, but then it cannot display any webpage.

Hi there,

Which is the operating system?
Have you checked for the proxy servers?
Often times a piece of Malware will change your Proxy Settings to intercept all communications from your Computer. If you have cleaned an infection, and are still experiencing trouble loading web pages your Proxy Settings may have been changed. To check these settings do the following (Pictures taken from Windows 7, other versions have similar steps):

In the Control Panel click "Network and Internet."holygrass_5.jpg
On the subsequent menu select "Internet Options." This will open the Internet Properties menu. (This is the same menu as the one accessed through Internet Explorer. I feel safer with this method though, as not opening IE will prevent a browser misdirect. Also note, these settings can affect all browsers)
Click on the Connections tab
.holygrass_6.jpg
Click the LAN settings Button. You can now see the Proxy Settings

Most home users will simply want to un-check the box next to "Use a proxy server..." If you connecting through a legitimate proxy you will instead need to contact your network administrator for the actual address to enter here.

Click okay

Error in installing yahoo!7 messenger 9.0

make sure you have the latest update on software by using windows update

Make sure messenger is off, then go to regedit then open up HKEY CURRENT USER then open up SOFTWARE then open up MICROSOFT then open up WINDOWS then open up CURRENT VERSION then click on Internet Settings but dont open it just click on it then go half way down the list to find PROXY ENABLE,PROXY SERVER,PROXY OVERRIDE then click on PROXY ENABLE click modify binary and change from 0x00000000 (1) to 0x00000000 (0) then delete PROXY SERVER and PROXY OVERRIDE and there you go sign into messenger this has worked perfect for me hope it does for you.

or

It's either one of the two:

- Yahoo! servers are down for maintenance, the only fix would be to wait.

- Your connection preferences are wrong:
Messenger tab just above where you sign in and then click the Connection Preference option
