SOURCE: ACTIVATE Wireless Link????

On some models check to make sure that the actual physical "switch" is turned on (if there is one). Usually located in the front or side of the laptop. Also, make sure your HOLDING the function key while pressing F2, otherwise it won't work. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: hello, my laptop cannot connect using wireless

Hi, if you are using windows XP, check for your control panel, look for network connections, and then on the LAN or Highspeed internet portion, check if there is an icon for wireless connection, if there's none, the driver of you wireless is not installed. If there is, right click the icon and then select enable.

Wireless capability Switch is off on dell vostro 1400.Is there another way to turn on switch.

There are three ways to toggle the wireless switch on/off, 1st, Fn + wireless button (F2 or F5), 2nd, the wireless switch on the side of the laptop, 3rd, it can be enabled or disabled under BIOS setup (Tap F2 when turned on the laptop).

Turn on wireless

To turn the wireless on on your laptop:

1. Click on Start. Type Mobility in the Search box. Hit the enter key.

2. In the Search results under Programs you will see Windows Mobility Center. Click on it to open it.

3. You will see a button under "Turn Wireless On"

4. Click on it to enable your wireless.

Another way using a keyboard shortcut: Press the fn and F2 keys at the same time.

I hope this helps you-Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Hello. where exactly is the button on the dell latitude d410 that activates the wifi? thanks.

On Dell laptops usually the wireless is not a hardware switch but a hotkey combination. On most moels (your too I think) it should be Function + F2 to toggle wireless on or off.

Where is the switch to turn on my wireless connection I have a cn6000 compaq and it tells me my wireless switch is turned off where is it an how do I turn it on ?

Try pressing the FN+F2

If you have windows, try this. Go to Start, Control Panel, Network and Internet Connections, Network Connections. Right-click on your wireless connection, and if there is an option to "enable," then enable it. Otherwise, it'll say "disable," which means that it's turned on.

There is a button above the keyboard to turn on Wireless

Hope it works :-)

Where is the wireless button on t42 thinkpad

There's no hardware switch to activate and deactivate the wireless networking, but pressing Fn and F5 brings up a menu that allows you to turn Bluetooth on/off, WiFi on/off or both. It seems like IBM isn't satisfied with standard toggle buttons like other notebook manufacturers - even pressing the Fn and F7 buttons to switch between internal and external screens, brings up a menu with multiple display settings and resolutions.
Hope this helps,

Fn button fujitsu siemens li1705 not working

Pressing fn-F2 is telling your wireless utility software to activate/deactivate your wireless card. You should also be able to do it through your wireless utility software. There is Usually a little icon for it at the bottom-right of your screen.
