SOURCE: Speakers not working, but cables all plugged in...

No drivers for your soundcard, this is a computer issue not a speaker issue, contact dell, if you can understand a word they say, ask them "I have Dimension (model number here), I need to know how to install my sound drivers", if you dont know how to do this.

SOURCE: speaker doesnt give sound

Based on the fact that you have put a headset in and another speaker system and it is working properly there is nothing wrong with your windows settings. I would leave them alone. The issue appears to be with the hardware. Have you attempted to plug the speakers into another source (ie. cd player, ipod, etc)? If you plug them in there and they don't work, take the speakers back and have them exchanged. If they're not under warranty you're going to have to either get them fixed or replace them. Good luck on this one! JC

SOURCE: DURABRAND 2.0 CH USB COMPUTER SPEAKERS

I recently purchased Durabrand 2.0 CH USB computer speakers at Wal-Mart. When I hooked them up to my computer all I got was a sound like a scratchy sound. My computer does not have internal speakers and may not have a sound driver installed either. This is a company computer so I can't do alot of downloading. So what or is there a best way for me to get my new speakers up and running.

SOURCE: Speakers not working, but cables all plugged in...

the problem is your computer may not sense the presence of your audio device, chances are your driver is either corrupted nor not yet installed.
go to my computer then right click go to properties, hardware, device manager,
under the device manager go to sounds and see if ther is any exclamation icon or anything , expand this icon and see if there is anything you see that has a yellow exclamation or question mark right click that icon and select scan for hardware changes , then update driver , better yet go to sound properties and see if you can roll back the driver, if you have the cd utilities for your computer, you can reinstall the driver again and after all this restart once again your computer
cheers

Looking for old Logitech S-100 driver

These are analog speakers and do not need a driver. First, make sure they're plugged into the speaker/headphone jack and not the microphone jack. Second, make sure the computer's sound output is enabled and set the headphone/speaker jack. Third, verify that the sound output is working by plugging in a headphone set or a different pair of speakers. If the computer sound checks out, the speaker cable is bad or the power supply is not working.

WILL NOT TURN ON!

Is this a new problem and this ran fine until now? If so, you want to make sure you have power going to the computer, power at power strip or surge protector, cables all plugged in correctly and tight. If all that checks out then the most likely cause is the power supply has failed. If you have had power surges or electrical storms recently this could be the cause. If not, your capacitors in the power supply could just be at the end of their life and died.

Worked great for years. Now, won't turn on. Plugged in and all connections checked. Light at on switch does not turn on.

Next step would be to check for power from the wall wart (external power supply). Note the output voltage indicated on the power supply, then check for that approximate voltage with a multimeter.

A replacement power supply can be found at most electronics retailers. Make sure the polarity matches, ie positive tip or negative tip, and the plug must match dimensionally. Make sure a replacement can supply the current that the original did (rated in milliamps - MA, or amps A). Ideally an exact replacement would be best if that is the issue. Be careful, and don't crack open that power supply!

Dll user32.dll problem

Certain programs may not start after you install security update 925902 (MS07-017) and security update 928843 (MS07-008) on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2). Additionally, you may receive an error message that resembles the following: application_executable_name - Illegal System DLL Relocation

The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation occurred because the DLL C:\Windows\System32\Hhctrl.ocx occupied an address range reserved for Windows system DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL.

I have no sound

Download The Driver from this link and save the file into the desktop :

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R94481&SystemID=DIM_CEL_3000&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=2430&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=3&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=3&fileid=122481

After Download, double Click on the the file and just follow the on screen prompts to install the Driver than restart the computer. If still there is no sound coming out of the speakers. The problem should be on the physical connection of the speakers to the system. Check the speaker connection and make sure the cable is plugged in to the right audio port at the back. If you are not sure where to plug the speaker cable, play a music and try each port. (Make sure that the speaker has power as well - Applicable for speakers with power adapters).
