My freezer defroze and I lost all my food

This morning I woke up and my freezer had defreezed. It ruined all my food! My refrigerator also seems to be refrigerating less, all the food in it is just barely cold. All the rest seems perfect, the noise of it's functioning seems the same, the lights are the same, everything seems the same.... I kept the door open for some time since I started to clean it up and it seemed all the time that everything was fine (it even made that noise that ir usually does when you are open for too long and it has to work harder) other than it not cooling enough and not freezing in the freezer.

Remove the back cover on the rear of the refrigerator at the bottom.

The compressor is there. A fan motor is there.

Look to see if the fan motor is running.

Check for a plugged coil under the refrigerator. Remove the kick plate and look with a flashlight and see if you can detect anything blocking the air flow from under the box to the back. And be sure if you pull off the cardboard back you put it back on because this has to be in place for the air to flow properly.

If you have frost in the freezer area then you have a defrost problem and have to persue another corce of action get back to me and let me know how and what you find.
If this helps you please rate me as high as you can and thank you for using fix ya.

Freezer has had ice film on bottom for some time, leaks down into the frig, unit began making a periodic clicking noise last night, woke up this morning to defrosted food in freezer. Cleaned coils,...

Just by cleaning the coils and the keeping it shutdown should not have any effect on the freon in the compressor. It is only used to cool down the coils so that the air blows over them is also made cold. Please keep it running for a while and check if the problem persists. There is a chance that the air is first cooling down the ducts in the refrigerator and then afterwards the whole inner body. That can warm down the air a bit. If the problem persists, this can be a freon issue.

This morning I woke up and my freezer food was all frosty - also my ice cubes appear wet.

Check your settings and make sure they have not been turned down. If the settings are where you normally keep the you might want to call a repair man

There is a buzzing when the compressor starts

Sound like the freon charge is low, have it serviced and check for leaks. Might be time for a new fridge.

Kenmore Elite refrigerator stops cooling - Relay keeps cycling

the relay on the compressor is most likely the culprit part# 8201786 you can buy it at the local sears parts and repair center it is very easy to replace it. your refrig compartment will start warming up soon. to prevent damage to your compressor probably a good idea to unplug the refrig until you get the part replaced..
