Dear Friend,
There are many problems that can cause Microsoft to freeze during the process, follow this steps and let me know the outcome.
1. Click on Star> All Programs> scroll down where it says Accessories> System Tools> Disk Clean up. Run that, then you will have results with selection box on the side where you can select every single. Select all and click OK.
2. Click on Start > in the search box above the start button type Run or if you see it there click on it> The Run window appear, type %Temp% + Enter > A new window will open showing you many files and folders, select all and deleted all (a window will show up saying that FXSAPID can not be deleted, simple skip that and the remain will be erased.
3. Follow step number 2 but this time type "msconfig"> System Configuration will apear> Select Starup> Disable all> Click OK> Restart you PC.
4. Update your Pc - Start> All Programs > Windows Update. Select every single update available Important and optional if available.
5. I strongly suggest you to run your Antivirus to search for potential virus, Trojan horse, worm or malware. This can cause malfunctions and instability to your PC.
Hope it helps. Good Luck!!

My acer m3100 does not connectto my monitor

What it says on the monitor ? No signal ? If yes then:
1 - check the cable, eventually use another one and plug it in in the other video socket.
2 - check if the problem is a software one by trying to boot in Safe Mode - if you can then it's a software problem, uninstall your present video driver and reboot; then you will have to use an older version.
3 - if none of the above worked it's probably the video card - try to go in to the BIOS; if you can't then it's time for a new video card.

Acer M3100 crashed

I'd suggest there is a possible hardware error. You need to get into the bios and check the temperatures they'll be under 'system health' or similar. Also might be worth running a ram check. Download 'windiag' it's a microsoft program designed to check your ram and it is very good.

I bought an Acer Aspire M3100 desktop computer last June & yesterday, the Acer mouse freezes up periodically & I have to shut down my computer & then turn it back on for the mouse to work properly again....

I think the problem is the memory. If you know how to burn an .iso file, the best test is memtest86+. The next link is to select the version to download the memory test. You can make a bootable CD with the .zip (for windows), or a floppy versionfor windows is also available.

If you need a tool to make a bootable CD, ISO recorder is a very nice utility (plus it is free).

Good luck!
