Dear Friend,
It really depends on your PC. Some computers comes equip with USB and or PS/2 connectors which are usually green and purple connector.
In order to access to the BIOS you must press either F2 or ESC during the boot logo right after turning on your PC (depending on your PC manufacturer).
Good Luck!

I can't get the keyboard NOR mouse to work, plugged it in and my computer doesn't recognize them at all. What do I do??

you will most likely need to go into the bios and enable usb keyboard and mouse, this should correct the issue.

You will most likely need to press the Del key when booting up to get into the bios.

Mouse and keyboard freeze.

its a very common hardware fault with these laptops, can you open setup or bios? that is opened right when the power is turned on the and screen says press F2 to enter bios or setup, if you can't enter bios then you have a faulty motherboard, usb ports don't work either? (usb keyboard and mouse don't work?)

Sound like you have a hardware problem.if you boot can you use the keyboard to go into the bios?hit f2 when it boots,If you enter the bios it might be a windows issue. However if it persist your keyboard might be disconected or bad.

The keyboard, built in and external mouse do not respond.

If BIOS menu has User password set then nothing will work until you type in the password. The keyboard will appear not to be working until correct pwd is typed. Try entering your password like this
pwd1<Enter> pwd2<Enter> pwd3<Enter>
where pwd1 is your guess at the password and <Enter> is when you press the <Enter> key on keyboard.

Bios does not find PS2 keyboard/mouse

Did you go into the BIOS and set it to recognize the USB Keyboard after you reset the BIOS? Is windows not noticing it or the BIOS. You stated that it recognized the USB keyboard and then said that it did not.
What does all of this mean? USB keyboard does not activate "del" setup.

If it does not work, it is because you reset the BIOS and did not change the settings back for the USB keyboard.

I hope that I fixed your problem.

I had this problem for a very long time as well. Turns out this is an encryption issue. It's off-balance. You need to reset the encryption, and here's how:

On the LEFT side of your wireless keyboard press and hold Ctrl+Alt, and press F12, then release all three buttons. Now push the Connect button on your Wireless Receiver, then the connect button on your wireless keyboard. Now press Esc. Try it. See if it works. It did for me.
