I think it is the ribbon. unless you dropped it and the LCD is cracked it could be the connection in the back of the LCD. Usually LCD are very durable and can last.

Hi i have a Gameboy color and 1 advanced and they both have problems with the lcd screen it's so dark hard to se what's going on on it :) what's wrong ? can anyone help

you either play them under direct (sun) light or attach some kind of external light like a worm light for a game boy color/advance, but the light isn't evenly distributed. i have a halo light for my gb advance--better than nothing.
game boy advance sp has a front lit screen.
GameStop sells game boy advance sp for $40.
hope this helped some

My GBA SP was left out in the rain, and wont work

Yes, but internal composants or the screen could have been messed up. I wonder how your SP is still alive after that...

Flickering screen on startup

Sounds like hardware. Several possibilities come immediately to mind:

1) Backlight is going bad. (It's a fluorescent light).
2) Bad inverter
3) Loose or bad cable in laptop hinge

If the picture is OK using an external monitor, it's probably one of those three.

I've used these guys before for screen repair: Unknown document title.

Taylor 751 sp dead

Sound like you might have a loose wire or ribbon cable, might even be a loose wire on switch.Be sure to turn breaker off to machine and unplug it before you check them. Also check the motor reset.

Quasar TV sp 2724E Loses the picture

Sounds like a failed vertical amplifier circuit. This is normally primarily contained in an integrated circuit mounted on a heatsink.
There are other possibilities along the line but the one above is the most likely.
Now all you need is a TV repair shop that is still in buisness.

GBA SP Backlight Problem

try putting a soldering iron on the joints of the backlight connection and melt the solder in place and do it for both contacts. Try this and it might just be a loose connection. Dry solder joints hapen all the time in most new electronics

GBA SP backlight off.

The SP has a small circular button near the display when the clamshell is opened. That controls the power to the backlight. Have you tried pressing that?
