Question about LG Dryers

Water in Salt dispenser

The salt dispenser is filled with water.I've cleaned the filter inside the dishwasher, but I've heard there is another filter at the back that might be causing water to push into the salt dispenser if blocked.Any advise?

SOURCE: where is the filter to clean so that water fills

Tun off the water to your washer and remove the hoses where they connect to your washer. Look inside of those connections and the water screens are inside the plastic fittings. Gently remove them and clean them on BOTH sides under running water. An old tooth brush works fine as does a few good snaps or thumps with the fingers. Hold them up to the light and make you can see light thru them. Once you finish... reinstall the screens then hook up the hoses and turn the water back on. Check your fill pressure on hot cold and warm..... You should see a noteable difference.

SOURCE: Hi tehre, everything seems to work -

Rost; I will take a WAG at it. Either your thermostat is not telling the heater element to turn on or the heater element is broken. The heating element is the more likely and can be tested with an ohm meter to make sure.

On start DW drains but does not fill...putting hot water into machine will get it to start and run cycle sometimes only...

Main control board is bad. Drain sequence is a power on test, Main board is not sending signal to open valve or is sensing water is present in the machine when it is not.

If water is soft in your area you can ignore the salt indicator light and operate the dishwasher without adding regenerating salt. However, you need to ensure the salt reservoir is filled with water to the brim. So add water into the reservoir and then put the cap back on.

What do these mean on a zanussi dishwasher model DE 6854

The top light is apparently to indicate that the salt (!) has run out.

The bottom light is apparently to indicate that rinse aid has run out.

For the record, that seems to be a Zanussi DE-6854 dishwasher, and I found the manual here: (link)

"Special salt can be added in one of two ways: 1) If you are using dishwasher detergent that already contains salt, the detergent including the salt is placed in the detergent compartment. - In this case the water softener must manually be set to 1 and electronically to 1 to ensure that the special salt is taken from the detergent container only. 2) If you are using dishwasher detergent and salt separately, the special salt is to be put into the salt container. - In this case the water softener must manually be set to 1 or 2 and electronically between 1 and 5 (depending on the water hardness in your area) to ensure that the special salt is taken from the salt container only. Only use salt specifically designed for use in dishwashers. All other types of salt not specifically designed for use in a dishwasher, especially table salt, will damage the water softener. Only fill with salt just before starting one of the washing programmes. This will prevent any grains of salt or salty water, which may have been spilt, remaining on the bottom of the machine for any period of time, which may cause corrosion." (Page 6)

"Only use branded rinse aid for dishwashers. Never fill the rinse aid dispenser with any other substances (e.g. dishwasher cleaning agent, liquid detergent). This would damage the appliance." (Page 7)

The manual also explains how to turn the Rinse Aid light off permanently if you do not wish to use rinse aid.

Good luck!

the salt dispenser is always full of water, this is normal and you have no need to drain it. Just ensure you fill the dispenser with salt when the "Low Salt Light" is illuminated

Bosch dishwasher SHX46AO7UC/14 Cycle doesn't run. I suspect the filters are clogged with our hard water. Have cleaned the main outlet to best of my ability but how do you get at inlet filters?

You will have to get to the back of the machine where the water feed pipe is.
There can be a filter at the supply tap and also in the back of machine where pipe goes into the unit.
If you have hard water do you use salt (dishwasher salt not cooking) in the water softener dispenser and adjusted the machine to the correct level ?

White film on glasses. Cannot find solution,

Check water quality. clean the drain filter in the machine. Check spray arm spray jet holes. Clean if clogged.

If you suspect salt chamber try removing all the salt by flushing with water externally. Refill with fresh salt.
