Put the poles together eith the spring section on the top. Otherwise, the weight of what you put on it will pull it down.

Antishock open too far

The answer is actually very simple but not immediately obvious. no doubt the spring is showing and there seems no way to push the pole back in. there is a collar above the spring on the top part of the pole all you have to do is slide the collar down the pole over the spring, then retract the pole and slide the collar back up the pole to its original position.

I extended the pole too far. Though I follow the instructions about reducing the length, I cannot get the pole to readjust. Please help.

Unscrew the bottom pole (with the basket) where the spring meets the upper, wider pole but not all the way and then retighten. It should allow you to compress it back in. Worked for me.

Purpose of the pole switch

The right hand drive have the bumper poles in front of the left hand head light. when the switch is pressed to the on position, the pole extends like an antenna and it has a green light on top of it. It helps to light up the area so you wont hit the curb and scrape the rims." __________________

What's the extended grip for?

The extended grip allows a lower grip position. The low grip is useful on steep traverses so you won't have to shorten the length of your pole.

I have the sollution, had the same problem with the broken compression nut. Just use two hose clamps, one to hold the pole extended and the other clamps around compression base. Its a cheap easy fix and it work great fo me. The Real Mr.Fixit
