Have you done a processor reset? It will clear up many problems. For some reason radios need to have the processor reset every so often. Lots of Ed going around the unit. Try that first.

How hard is it to replace the finals in a kenwood ts-2000

Hi Damon,

It's Bloomin' hard, and it's tricky if you have little technical knowledge.

Yes Kenwood is a darn good brand, so to keep your Kenwood darn good, pay for the repairs, it's darn worth it.

Cheers,
Peter

When i turn on the kenwood radiocar, hf error 68 appears. What does it mean? What should i do?

Error 68 means it is trying to connect to a bluetooth enabled cell phone. You Need to turn off the blue tooth pairing options in your radio options. Just go through the menu and you will find it.

My stereo system is showing HF error 68 and will not connect to my mobile phone. The system is a KDC BT50U

This error has nothing to do with installation - there is a bluetooth compatibility issue.
Not all bluetooth devices are compatible, and some only have limited functionality.

If you have already reset the unit, and the problem persists - the phone you are pairing is not compatible with the radio.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.

Will uniden digital trunking scanner pickup kenwood radio signals

Makes and models make no difference as far as compatibility. Check the frequency coverage of the scanner you're looking at, and compare it to the operating frequencies of the Kenwood. If the Kenwwod is an HF model, the answer is a flat NO. If it's VHF or UHF, most Uniden scanners will be capable of reception. If you need more specific info, such as operating frequencies/modes for specific radios, please let us know.

I was given a kenwood ts440s hf transceiver and it has the leads for dc power supply. What can I use to power this radio? Is it primarily set up for mobile use or can it also be powered for in house usage?...

To use supply the radio with 12 volts you would have to use a power supply such as an Astron which can be purchased at Ham Radio Outlet and other ham radio shops, you can get their number on the internet. The 110 AC to 12 volt DC is not the problem..it requires the amperage to make the radiois work.... You can use a 12 volt battery and use it for a maybe an hour without charging....the radio will not work with a car battery charger... Hope this helps
