Wearing a mouthguard will limit the injuries to your mouth area if an accident happens when playing sports. They can prevent broken teeth and nerve damage and are definitely a very important thing to wear.

What types of diseases do chiropractors treat?

What Conditions do Chiropractors Treat? Posted in About Chiropractic, Conditions, Featured Articles

Chiropractors commonly treat a wide variety of conditions and injuries. Most chiropractic patients understand that chiropractors can relieve pain, and regular chiropractic care will prevent pain, further injuries, and may stop or reverse many conditions.
Millions of people suffer from back, neck, extremity (arms, legs) and other musculoskeletal pain, which are all effectively relieved by chiropractic care, without the need for medication.
Musculoskeletal Conditions Chiropractors are trained to identify and make referrals for conditions that should be treated by medical specialists, if need be. Common extremity complaints may include tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, knee and ankle pain, and sports injuries.
Conditions & Diseases In addition to back and neck pain, chiropractic is also very effective for treating medical conditions for people of all ages including babies and the elderly. Conditions such as allergies or chronic ear infections in children, are successfully treated by chiropractic.
Many conditions are caused by subluxations (misalignments of spinal bones), which irritate or aggravate the nerves resulting in diseases or conditions. Chiropractic care can provide partial or full relief to many of these conditions:
Injuries Many common injuries can also be effectively treated by chiropractic care. The most common injuries are automobile accidents, where the symptoms can be delayed by weeks or even months after the accident. Auto insurance often covers these injuries.
Work place injuries including falls, lifting injuries, and others are also treatable by chiropractic. Many work places offer insurance to cover these types of injuries.
Chiropractic works well with sport injuries, and chiropractors can often improve performance. Some common injuries treated by chiropractors include:
  • Auto accidents
  • Chronic injuries
  • Falling injuries
  • Lifting injuries
  • Sport injuries
  • Whiplash
  • Work-related injuries
Please talk to your chiropractor for more information on how chiropractic care can help your specific pain, condition, or injury. Many conditions are treatable naturally without the need for surgery or medication. Everyone deserves good health and a healthy nervous system!

Does sport chiropractic just involve a lot of massaging and physiotherapy or does it involve a whole lot more? I wouldd like to pursue a career as a chiropractor in Toronto and would like to know if...

Chiropractic has gained acceptance in the eyes of many and are used as recourse to find relief from really bad injuries, muscle and joint pains. And good chiropractors are very much in demand. To answer your question, No, sports chiropractic involves a lot more than just what you mentioned. Try the link to get more info and what it involves. In Toronto, you could try the CMCC. After the 4 year course, you'd have to do an additional two year specialization in the sport sciences and is geared towards helping the sportsperson manage his injuries and optimize his game based on his strengths and weaknesses.
