Question about Apple Ipod Classic Black 160gb Video Mp3 7th Generation Mp3 Player Newest
I've had this since it first came out and never had any problems with it. I recently got some more music and I wanted to update my Ipod. I have some 18,000 songs on my Library and I'm still well within my range of memory space. Well when I plugged it in to sync, I scanned it like I always do and my computer told me there was a problem and that I should reset the device to it's default settings (a.k.a. Format it). So I did. But the problem is that when it came time to sync the Ipod would get maybe 400 songs in and freak out. I figured maybe my massive library was overloading it having to redo from scratch, however when I checked on the Ipod the 400 songs that were supposedly on there where not.. It was completely empty! How can I fix this and hopefully can I get my full library back on it? Please and thank you!

when you sync the ipod itunes only syncs what you select.
it is possible your music list got uncheck or you had checked only synced check songs.
what happens then is the sync will replace you full library with only the songs checked.
when you connect to itunes and see the summary page. on the tabbed line just above the main contents window choose music.
look at your settings and see how it is set up.
set it to sync all music
then it will sync all the songs on your playlists every time.
you can also add and delete music by on your summary page uncheck automaticallu sync music.
then you can click on your music folder of your ipod and drag and drop song to the first column of the contents window. if you have any problems let me know

first the easy part....1800 songs we will not move this one at a time..............plug ipod to pc..open itunes....see on left hand side of screen...pc (music, photo & video folders) and under that ipod (music, photo, video folders)..ok..click on pc (music folder) all your music shows up right ok..this time click & drag the pc (music) down to the ipod music folder and release....its 1800 songs so lets wait til the ipod is finish (look at the ipod file a circular motion is happening,,,,its loading).......once finish always eject your ipod...............now find where you are storing mp3 / mp4 on your pc...once you find it ..go to top bar view then click,on view details (artist, album, type, lenght) this where it will say mp3/4/wma/wav or flac file

Is the problem with your iPod or your computer. If it's your iPod then try doing a 'Restore'. Connect your iPod with the cable that came with it to the USB port on your computer. In iTunes, click and (Restore). This will rebuild all the software on the iPod and restore your songs.
