In the print out alone you can already know what print head is no working properly like missing color. if cleaning is not solving the issue this purging the print head. just read the user manual for the instruction

SOURCE: Printer problem, yelloow head not working on my canon

I stumbled on an ebay seller who is selling cleaning solution for print heads. Canon print heads are removable without special tools.

I gave mine a clean with metho, as I figured that it could not get any worse and I got the gist that I was going to have to replace the printer anyway.

I cleaned it with metho (just the bottom of the print head) and ran the clean print head function twice from maintenance and it is not working perfectly.

I do recommending taking this advice with caution as I do not know if this process could cause further damage or not work.

Either the ink you are using is not going to give the color you want, or you have print heads that are blocked.

SOURCE: The printer is recognising that

Hello,
try to do deep head cleaning, few times. If this doesn't helps you need to remove the ink's and print head and bottom of print head ( where are ink nozzles ) few times press on wet cloath.

Then repeat the deep cleaning.

Canon iP6600D printer keep printing in Blak ink only

1st option, set the default profile in the printer properties. if it doesnt work. this will change all the settings that you might missed to check to go back to factory setings. also, check if your color cartridge is ok and with enough ink and not dis abled
2nd option, run any 3rd party software that can fix some windows system files or something like that. try to scan pc for viruses
3rd option, reformat your pc. maybe windows files that allows your printer to work are having problems or corrupted, base on the thing that you mentioned that it goes back to the grayscale settings

Yellow cast when printing from canon mx850 - I see this problem has been described before, where do I find the answer?

The way inkjet printers work is they mix the limited amounts of colours available from the cartridges, by printing in layers, to get the desired colour. A lot of the time when it appears off colour its because one of the other colours isn't printing properly to show create the correct 'mix'.
This can either be because the colour is low, or because there is a blockage somewhere. I would suggest removing the cartridges & reinserting them, then performing maintenance which i believe can be done on the printer itself by pressing the menu button, finding 'maintenance/settings' pressing OK, then going to 'maintenance', followed by doing a 'cleaning procedure'.
More info here: http://www.canon.co.uk/Support/Consumer_Products/products/Fax__Multifunctionals/InkJet/PIXMA_MX_series/MX850.aspx?faqtcmuri=tcm:14-605698&page=1&type=faq
If this doesnt help, try the same thing but choosing deep cleaning.
Hope this helps.

How do you go about cleaning printer head

there is a cleaning utility "printhead clean" and printhead deep clean" under "maintenance" in the "printer properties". Try that first. If that doesn't help and there is definitely ink in the cartridge(s), you can remove the cartridges and soak the printheads in 5mm of hot water for 1/2 hour or so. DRY WELL then install back in printer and run "printhead deep clean".
Another way is to isolate the colour that doesn't print properly and print few pages in that colour (eg if yellow is not printing right...set out a full page of yellow background and print on high quality setting until yellow starts to print ok). This wastes less ink than the cleaning utility.

good luck with it

I have an Epson Stylus C110 Injet printer and it would not print the colours properly. Eg. it is not printing the yellows properly by printing too much purple. I can't get it to print the colours I want.

run a maintenance page on it..
goto your printer panel..and then selct maintenance..
and print maintenance page to clean the cartridge..after printer get your cartridge and wipe it on a wet cloth to avoid clog on the nozzles...
