Which is more, 15,839 yards or 9 miles

9 miles
15839 = 8.999431818 miles
1 yard = 0.000568181818182 miles
This really comes down to how you round up and what number of decimal places you round at . at two decimal place you could look at it as equal .
8.999 >> rounded to two decimal places = 9 miles
also is a mile the same number of yards in each country ?

Can you round 3,150,000 to 2 decimal places

Huh?
To round off a number to 2 decimal places.... you would have to have a decimal. Your number of 3,150,000 implies 3,150,000.00

There is no rounding in this case. It is simply adding a decimal and two zeros after the decimal.

How to round to the nearest tenths place in this number 40.981

Not sure if this is your question, but, the way we usually round down from 5 and round up from 6. Example: 1.586 rounded to the nearest 100th would be 1.59 , rounded to the nearest 10th would be 1.6... get it?

So, in your example, it would be : 40.98 = nearest 100th , 41.00 = nearest 10th , seeing as the .9 rounded up to a whole number, thus 1 !!

Hope this helps !!

Rounding decimals 3 places

You round a number with several decimal places to a number with fewer decimal places.
1.14 rounded to 1 decimal place 1.1
What you are asking for can be done by putting a zero after 4 and write 1.140, BUT that is not rounding. In fact you can put as many zeros after 4 as you want.

Rounding nearest

Set the display to 2 decimal places then use the [RND] function. See how the manual describes the Round operation.

23101423-rvrejqbjq4zuw4cbinsyjvsy-5-0.png Brief example:
01- 42 2 [f][2]
02- 42 14 [f][RND]
03- 42 9 [f][9]
The above program takes the number displayed and rounds to 2 decimal places (nearest 100th), then displays all decimal places.
If you entered 2.876 and ran the program, it would display 2.880000000.
