You dont have to worrry about it being absolutly level, just level the fron feet so they are touching the ground. use all of your body weight to shake the machine if yout feels hard as a rock then its fine. if your load is becoming unbalanced, then RTFM, this machine is a suspension basket, you cannot wash a load of shirts and throw in 1 towel, or 1 pair of jeans, towels only by themselves and jeans only by them selves.

Where is the balance sensor located on my Kenmore Elite Oasis washer

Hello.

Top loading washing machines can emit loud noises and vibrations if they are not properly balanced. Imbalanced machines are the result of large loads of clothing that rock the machine causing one or more of the feet to rise off of the floor. Front loading washing machines do not have this problem because there is no side-to-side motion. Kenmore top loading washing machines have self-leveling feet on the rear of the machine and adjustable feet on the front of the machine.

1 plug the washing machine's power cord from the electrical socket. Pull the washer away from the wall, or out of the laundry closet, so that it is easily accessible.

2 rasp the top back of the washer on both sides and tilt it forward until the back feet are off of the ground by 4 inches. Lower the washer gently back to the ground. This maneuver, adjusts the self-leveling rear washer feet so that they are fully extended. You may need the assistance of another person to do this.

3 lace a level on top of the washer near the front edge. Look for the air bubble in the level to determine which side of the washer is out of balance. The side that the bubble leans toward is the side the needs to be raised.

4 Move the level so that it is positioned along the side edge of the washer and check to see if it is level from front to back. If it is level, move it to the other side of the washer and see if it is level.

5 Lift up on the front of the washer and insert a wooden block or brick under the front bottom edge.

6 Crouch down on the floor near the front foot that needs to be raised. Use your fingers to twist the threaded foot clockwise to retract the foot and counterclockwise to extend the foot further. If necessary, adjust the other front foot as well using the same method.

7 Lift up on the top of the washer and slide the block out from under it. Place the level on top of the washer to check that it is level. If the washer is not level, replace the block and continue adjusting the feet until the air bubble is centered in the level.

8 Crouch down on the floor near the front of the washer and use a 14 mm wrench to twist the metal nut on each front foot counterclockwise. Twist each nut until each is tight against the washer and will no longer move.

9 Plug the washer's electrical cord back into the wall.

And the problem will be solve.
Thanks.

How to Level a Whirlpool Top Loading Washer.

If you are experiencing consistent off-balance load issues with your Whirlpool top loading washer, it may be caused by a simple problem of needing to reset the auto-level mechanism and making sure the front feet are properly level. This advice may save you a service call and restore an unbalanced washer to running condition.

The rear feet on Whirlpool manufactured top loaders have an auto-leveling mechanism that you can easily reset yourself. Just follow these steps:

1. With the wash tub empty, open the washer lid and grasp the rim of the tub opening (do not grab the tub).

2. Now place one of your feet at the base of the washer along the front of the washer to keep it from moving.

3. Now pull the washer towards you so the rear feet lift off the floor a couple of inches. You should hear a clicking sound as the rear feet auto-level.

4. Carefully set the washer back down (do not slam it) and the rear of the washer should now be level.

Using a level, check the washer front to back and side to side to make sure it is level in all directions.

If you need to adjust the washer washer front feet, carefully lift the front of the washer and turn the feet to either adjust them up or down. The slightest difference can cause excessive vibration on the final spin. Check by placing your hands at opposite corners on top of the washer (diagonally - one on the rear, one on the front) and try rocking the washer to see if it moves. If the washer wobbles, you need to readjust.

This advice is for all Whirlpool manufactured top loaders with a direct-drive system such as Kenmore, Estate, Kelvinator, Roper, and Frigidaire. If in doubt, please post your MODEL NUMBER when submitting questions, so that I can determine if your washer is configured with this feature.

This does NOT include the Oasis, Cabrio or Calypso models.

I hope everyone finds this information helpful.

I have overloaded the washing machine and now it is off balance and i need to know how to fix it

Kenmore top loaders are equipped with an auto-leveling system on the back two feet of the washer. Typically, what happens when the washer becomes off-balance it's a simple matter of the auto-leveler needing to be readjusted. This is a very simple process that requires no special tools. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3868923-level_whirlpool_top_loading_washer

The rear auto-leveler should be periodically checked from time to time to ensure the washer maintains level. Any excessive vibration may cause the rear of the washer to become mal-adjusted. This is normal. Once the rear feet are properly leveled, make sure the front feet are adjusted so that the washer is level front-to-back and side-to-side. Use a level across the top of the washer cabinet (NOT the lid! The lid on most washers is slightly bowed.) to check.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

During the rinse cycle, my washing machines shakes violently from side to side (It just started doing this a couple weeks ago). Is it off track, and is this issue self-repairable?

If this is a Kenmore top loader, it could simply be off level. The rear feet on these washer have an auto-leveling mechanism that you can easily reset yourself. Just follow these steps:

1. With the wash tub empty, open the washer lid and grasp the rim of the tub opening (do not grab the tub).

2. Now place one of your feet at the base of the washer along the front of the washer to keep it from moving.

3. Now pull the washer towards you so the rear feet lift off the floor.

I suspect that auto-leveling the rear feet will take care of the problem, since this just recently started happening. This needs to checked from time to time.

If you still have problems after checking the level of the washer, please post back and let me know. The problem could also be related to a balance spring issues. I hope this helps you.

Washer is all over the place!

If you've recently had the washer apart for maintenance, you probably have managed to unlevel the washer. The rear feet of Whirlpool manufactured top loaders are auto-leveling. You can usually tell if the washer if off level if the back appears to be sitting lower than the front. You can reset the level by following these very simple steps:

1. Make sure the wash tub is empty.

2. Open the washer lid and grab the rim of the wash tub opening (do not grab the tub).

3. Place one foot against the bottom front center of the washer.

4. Pull the washer towards you so that the back feet come off the floor. You should hear a clicking noise as the rear feet automatically level.

5. Lower the washer back in place and use a level to ensure the washer is level front to back and side to side.

This is a common issue when moving or doing maintenance on the washer. Many consumers do not know about the auto-leveling feature of these washers.

If you find that the washer is still unlevel after resettting the back feet, adjust the front feet by using a wrench to adjust the feet.

I would attempt these procedures first before assuming a bent shaft. I have never seen that occur. Its not to say that it can't, but its probably not common.

If you have any questions, or if you still need assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Kenmore 110 Washing Machine -

These machines are good washers. If you rearrange the load and that does not help, the washer not be level. This washer if it is the one I think it is, it does have a belt very seldom do the clutches go out unless you you maybe do50 loads a day. my guess is that it is not level and you will need a short level and place it on the front edge of the washer and see side to side then on the right or left side front to back . Most of these are equipped with self levelers. Put your foot in front of the washer at the base pull forward on back to lift the rear feet off the floor about 2 inches and set it carefully back down then check both ways again until it shows level, you may have to repeat this once or twice. If it still shows not level you my have to turn the front feet in or out until level. Remember use a combination tilting to the front and adjusting the front ones.
