Question about Maytag MDBH975AWS Stainless Steel Dishwasher
Will not run. Lights work so there is power. Started when my wife leaned against the door to reach an up cabinet-she is vertically challenged, when the washer was not running and engaged the Cancel/drain pad. Started the Cancel/drain cycle and she opened the door as there was nothing to drain to stop the cycle. Washer has not run since. This is what happens-Door open; shut door completely; push Start/resume pad once;Normal Wash light lights;push Start/Resume pad second time;Start light comes on for one Beep and then goes dark but the intermittent Beep continues for 15 Beeps and then all lights and Beeps stop. No wash or anything. Any help?

I would say that you have damaged your door lock. Most appliances have a door lock or a mico switch. this is the first port of call for the power to supply the w/machine.Safety measures??? go back to basics,is the door locking, any power to the going to the electronics. a door. Change faulty components???

Start the washer in a cycle. When the door locked light comes on, before unit gets to full of water, see if you can pull door open. If so, you probably have a broken latch. The wax motor is activating the switch, but latch is not actually closing. There was a door latch upgrade for some of these models.

Open the soap dispenser. Look down in front of the fabric softener dish.
You should see a yellowy-green plastic cord (like weed-whacker line). Pull it.
The door should open.
If you don't see the cord, remove the four screws that hold the dispenser lid in place to find it. Just don't lose it when you put the cover back on.

Tips for a great answer:
On this model in order to replace the belt first disconnect power to the dryer. Looking at the front of the unit in the seam between the front panel and the dryer top, use a putty knife to press in & release the spring clips in the right and left sides of this seam to release the top panel. Lift the panel & rest it against the wall. Reach in & remove the 2 screws holding the front panel to the side panels. Once you have removed the screws, lift the front panel up slightly to remove the complete front panel from the stationary clips at the bottom of the dryer. Be careful with the wires going to the door switch. Either remove them from the switch or simply lean the front panel against the right side of the cabinet. Next, lift the drum and slide the new belt around the drum to the mark made by the previous belt on the drum. Be sure the ribs are facing down. Part number for the drive belt is 31531589 which over the years crossed to 341241. On your knees, reach back by the motor and idler assembly and lift the idler pulley tension arm to route the belt allowing the idler to take up the slack in the drive belt. Reassemble and dryer some clothing.
