When using the touch screen -it selects the letter to the right or near --NOT the one I am choosing--How do you fix or calibrate this??

  • Anonymous Sep 01, 2008

same problem...if you disconnect the car battery, it fixes the calibration only  temporarily.  I think this is basically a design flaw by Pioneer.

I TRIED TO OUTLINE THE SCREEN BUT WHEN I TRY TO GO TO STEP 2 IT GIVE ME A MESSAGE AND DOESNT CHANGE

I have the same problem, left side of screen is like 1/2" off. The right side is about 1/8" off. Tried to calibrate / outline the screen etc through the setup option but it still doesnt work. I think most of the screen problems with the N1 is that the display needs to be replaced altogether...if it's not one thing it's another. Dont mean to gripe but so far I've had 1. the ribbon replaced through Pioneer. 2. DVD ejects intermittently 3. display won't roll out at times.

Did you perform #4 to save?

    If you did, Try this.
When you perform #1, outlining the screen....
Cheat the screen by drawing the left side 2/8th
of a inch to the right. Use a CD cover to keep a strate edge.

  • Rick1962 May 26, 2008

The Reset button is the little pin hole near the right joy stick. However, Turning off the ignition works better then the reset button.

Fixed the touch screen alignment issue on my avic n2 by using a wooden toothpick to outline the screen in the service mode. plastic stylus or my finger did not quite do it.

Some buttons don't work

Pioneer AVIC-D1 Touch Screen Recalibration

If your pioneer AVIC car navigation unit does not register your touches or the wrong button is “pressed”, you need to re-calibrate your screen’s digitizer.

1-Hold the Eject button down until the face of the unit drops all the way
2-Using a pen hold down the reset button (just above the joystick) and the navigation disc eject simultaneously.
3-Release the reset button.
4-Release the dvd eject button next. The display will read “press reset”
5-Push the joystick up two times.
6-Push the joystick down twice.
7-Press the joystick in.
8-The service menu will appear after a short pause. You can navigate the service menu using the joystick.
9-Chose the first menu option and press in on the joystick.
10-Trace the screen with a stylus.
11-"P.ADJ" is the back button
12-Chose the second menu item in order to calibrate the touch screen. Use a stylus again and tap the "+" sign on the screen. (You may have to touch slightly off center if the digitizer is damaged. In which case things will still be off but it will be much better.)

Hi, You set the screen so its all the way down and hold down the dvd eject then the reset button for a few seconds, then let off of the reset button, keep the eject button held down for another few seconds. Then the screen will say press reset. instead using the joystick, press up,up,down, down then push it in at the center. It will come up with options. the first one is touch screen test. using the joystick click on that one and do the calibration test. You will then have to trace the outline of the screen, while you are on the right side of it, trace it short to make up for the buttons on the right side. when you finish push the joystick in. it will say "settings ok" then go down to the 4th one, i think, and it will say something like test calibration settings and go to that one. It should say that the settings were saved. After that shut the key off and turn it back on and it should be good to go.
