Re: Error

Make sure the files your trying to put on there are compatible with your mp3 player. Some files wont go on because they aren't the right file type and so you need to convert those files to mp3s

Syncing iPod with iTunes, infamous (-69) problem

This error occurs when iTunes tries to send files to your iPod, but a file (or files) is unusable (something is wrong with it).
To figure out which file (or files) is causing the error, update to the latest version of iTunes and then do this:
  1. Control-click (Mac) or right-click (Windows) on your iPod icon in the iTunes Source pane, then choose Sync Songs from the shortcut menu.
  2. Watchthe display at the top of the iTunes window while your iPod is beingupdated. The name of the problematic file should appear in the displayright before the error appears. Then remove the bad file from the listof songs to be synced to your iPod.
  3. Select the iPod in the iTunes Source pane.
  4. Click the Settings tab.
  5. Selectthe "Only sync checked items" checkbox (please note that this checkboxis only available for an iPod configured to update automatically).
  6. Selectthe appropriate item under Library in the sidebar and find the bad filein the list. (For example, if the file in question was a song you wouldselect Music in the iTunes Source pane. If it were a video you wouldselect Movies or TV Shows in the sidebar.)
  7. Deselect the checkbox next to the file name.
  8. Repeatsteps 1 and 2 to update your iPod. If you have multiple problematicfiles in your iTunes library, you may need to repeat the other steps toremove them too.
To prevent future issues, you should delete the unusable files from your iTunes library, then restore them from a backup or reimport them from a CD.
If you're not able to isolate to any single file or if another iPodworks with the same songs, then disconnect any other devices connectedto USB or FireWire and try again. If the issue continues, then then tryresetting your iPod. If the issue continues, then restore your iPod.

I had a hard time trying to figure out why my mp3 player was reading fornat error! when it got to a certain song. I looked through my device and saw it had 5 folders and i hidden...what was this hidden thing...and where was it? I got the bright idea to open each of my files in this particular folder and I discovered that a song I had downloaded off of limewire had a hidden file on it and it directed me to a **** site when I tried to play it in windows media player. That is why the mp3 player read format error! when it would come to that song. So, try playing them in windows to see if you have any hidden **** attached to a file.

When I sync unknown error pops up

I'm not sure about error -48, but most often an error like this is caused by a corrupt music file not being able to be copied and stopping the sync. First, see if you can sync another playlist that doesn't contain any of the same songs. If it works, then it's just a matter of figuring out which song is corrupt. If you watch what song the sync is hanging on, sometimes you can pick it up quickly. ...good luck.

Philips GoGear: delete music from library & are there any Unicode

Here's the deal:
Open the Philips Device Manager that came with the install cd, and do a Repair - this will erase everything so you can start over from scratch. This will also take care of your squares issue.

No dice on the playlist issue - sorry.

Next, you have to disable the auto sync feature in Windows Media Player to prevent it from auto-loading all of those songs/files that you don't want. by opening Windows Media Player, highlighting the Sync tab, clicking on the little black arrow to bring down the drop-down menu, clicking on "Set Up Sync" (make sure your mp3 player is connected to computer, or this option will not appear), and unchecking the box that says "automatically sync files to my device". This will give you manual sync instead.

The iLO manual says you cant get songs from music stores like Napster. Lime Wire works very well on mp3 players. This same problem happend to me but then i realize it doesnt work if the songs come from Napster

Phillips GoGear 4Gb - Can't sync songs onto player...

This is only a makeshift solution.
I use a philips gogear sa52xx and found out, that deleting the drivers, then reconnecting the Player and pressing F5 in the explorer allows me to normally access the philips gogear sa52xx for about 30 seconds. After that, out of nowhere the drivers will sever and the Code 10 error appears. So, another disconnect - deinstall of the driver - reconnect - F5 in the explorer until the Player appears and then sync. The proplem is, that this works best (maybe only) with mp3 files...
So convert your music files into mp3 first, than do above steps for drag 'n' drop.
Usually, you need to do the whole procedure 2 times for a CD, sometimes 3.

I had this problem also and I think I figured it out because now my music will play. I took the songs I had from limewire, highlighted them all and clicked "save as", opened it with windows media player and on wmp I took my playlist and named it on there....first I synched the songs under "sync" and they would upload on my player but they would NOT play. I got the same stupid error message. So after they were uploaded onto my mp3 player, i dragged all of the songs onto the right side to make a sync list AGAIN and clicked start sync, all of the files said "already on device" so I kind of got mad thinking it still didn't work...when I unplugged it and tried to play the song, they ACTUALLY PLAYED. I fought with this for so long and contemplated about throwing the stupid thing down the toilet but for whatever reason, synching it in two different ways in that order, it worked and it stopped saying "error:can't open this file"...hope this works for you and anyone else having this problem because I know how frustrating this got for me. hope this helps. Good luck!!!
