Evap fans work but do not come on

It is a twin with 2 evaps and neither is coming on, I tested both motors with a 12 volt battery and motors work, what would cause them not to come on and what would cause them to come on?

SOURCE: Refrig evap fan not running, but fan OK

You can remove the fan and apply the normal voltage for your home or use a test meter to check the wires going to the fan. It should be the house voltage. Let me know, Sea Breeze

SOURCE: freezer side of my RS2534WW

Your indications does not make sense! Your unit has ONE compressor that uses ONE evaporator coil to cool both sides. So if the FREEZER side is not cooling the fridge side should not cool either! Are you sure you don't have the freezer and refrigerator sides reversed?

Is it freezing from the bottom up? If so check the drain is clear. If it's freezing all over, check the condenser is clean and clear and the compressor switches off when it reaches temperature. Lastly, check the door seals properly all the way round

Voltage to evap fan 94v not working runs slow @ 120v

Hi, I deal with evaporator motors on a day to day basis. If the motor is running but not up to full speed, the inner windings of the motor are going out. If the motor runs as you say, is it getting only 94 volts to it? If this is the case, check the incoming voltage to the unit itself. Check to see on the schematics what is between the motor where you may be loosing your voltage. Defrost thermostat, or timer. Check power to the timer first and get back to me. The defrost thermostat supplies power to the fan when the evaporator temperature gets cold enough and the contacts will close and send power to one side of the motor. If it is going bad, it will cause you to loose part or all of the voltage. If you have a meter, check this. It is round and sealed with 2 terminals on it. If it is cold enough, you can check the leads to ground and see if you are getting less then 120 volts coming out the motor side. If so, replace the thermostat. Please keep me posted.
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7
PS Be safe around electricity. Also, this defrost stat snaps around a evap. line.

Wiring problem may be a broken neutral between compressor and evap fan inside freezer, Compressor and comp fan motor runs noting else inside works.

chk for voltage at evap motor in freezer, more than likely evap motors bad they also can have fan on shaft come loose ans jamb up motor and this will also result in a burned out motor

Evap fan wont run can it be tested for bad board

Using a little 9 volt square battery , unplug the fan motor and connect the battery to the motor . ( fan runs on low voltage dc ) . If the fan runs , board is bad , if not , then motor is bad .

GE GSS201EMDCC Fridge and freezer not cooling.

there is probaly a "clixon" in the unit that senses the temp of the evap. if the evap does not get down to a certin temp the fan will not run. this makes it so you do not have ice crystals all over the freezer. matters on model. also sounds like the fridge might be short on gas.

Question regarding a honda odyssey 1999 check engine light codes.

P0420 relates to the catalytic converter. The computer sees little or no improvement in the exhaust before and after going through the converter. Either your oxygen sensors need replacement (3 total) or you need a new catalytic converter.
What is the mileage on the vehicle? Does it run well? Oxygen sensors generally start to fail after 70,000 miles. Catalytic converters usually fail because the engine is runnig rich and the owner ignores that fault for months. This causes the catalytic converter to overheat and fail.

P1456 relates to the evaporative emission system. This system holds the gas fumes in the system so they are not vented to the atmosphere. The most common cause of this code being set is failing to properly tighten the gas cap after refueling. Take the cap off and clean the sealing O-ring. Put it back on and tighten till it clicks 3 times. Make sure you have the correct gray colored gas cap. Clear the code and see if it resets within a few days. If it does, try replacing the gas cap.
