Question about 325i Battery. Door handle front/lock/key; driver utility set; key

1 Answer

Bmw convertible I have a 2003 BMW 325 Convertible and am having a problem with the drivers door lock. The key fob when pressed once does not unlock the door, but if I press it a second time, the passenger door unlocks. The key has to be used to unlock. The car locks fine with the fob. Any ideas?

That's probably the way it is designed to work but the driver's door is not responding. The actuator needs to be tested.

Bmw drivers door only wont lock/unlock with key fob

Could be your driver door lock mechanism that is going bad , since the other door are working, it cannot be the fob. I would try to change the driver side door latch mechanism.

Remote will not unlock doors can not unlock from inside

- Sit in the car with all the doors shut and windows up with your key fobs (all your fobs need to be done at the same time)
- With one of your keys turn the ignition on then off and remove the key
- Press and hold the unlock botton and then press the lock button 3 times.
- Release all buttons and the locks will bounce up and down.
- Repeat this with the other key/keys (press and hold unlock and press lock 3 times, locks will bounce)

Note: Only switch your ignition on once, doing so again while programming will reset the process and you will have to start again.

Bmw 325 on a y reg will turn over but will not fire fault code pointing immobilizer fault anti tamper fault any ideas easy cheap fix thanks

Hi Mark you could try to see if re-programming the key might do it, you could also disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and see if it resets that way...to re-program the key this is what you do, please follow by the book or it wont work, this however is just a trial to see if it will do the job, if reprogramming the key does not do it, then disconnect the battery for ten minutes and then try re-programming of the key...
1, unlock the car with the key ( not fob) get in and shut the door 2, switch ignition on and then off ( do not try to run it just on then off) 3, remove ignition key 4, press and hold unlock button 5, press lock button 3 times quickly all within ten seconds keeping the unlock button pressed 6, release unlock button 7 ( if you have this type of key fob) the led will flash slowly for 10 seconds 8,( if you have this type of key fob) the central locking system will lock and unlock rapidly to indicate correct programming 9 ( if you have this type of key fob) repeat procedure if the led flashes constantly, or the locking system does not unlock and lock rapidly please follow as directed..if you have any problems understanding what to do, please contact me on email address s.e.morris@live.co.uk hope this helps

12/6/2010 2003 bmw 325xi: Key does not manually lock/unlock driver door...but still works in ignition and trunk...central locking system still works to lock/unlock all doors(including driver) from...

If the key turns in the lock, but does nothing, then the linkage has become disconnected or broken. The key is mechanical to the lock and the lock has a electrical switch to operate the central locking unit. Could be a simple broken clip from the lock barrel. Hope this helps

It will be a bad microswitch in the mechanical lock driver's door and because of the microswitches do not get the impulse when other doors to unlock! Unfortunately, this microswitch is part of the lock and can be purchased separately! Only whole lock! ( Nr. 9. is it )5abc095.jpg

2000 BMW 323I WONT UNLOCK WITH THE KEY OR KEY FOB, ANY IDEAS?

I had same problem. Driver door would lock/unlock with key in keyhole in door, but not with fob, and other doors would not lock/unlock. Even once inside none of the doors would lock/unlock with lock switch, or even by pulling handles. Mechanic (very trustworthy) explained I needed a new control module (cost me $600). Good Luck. $600 is better than having to roll down the windows so Grandma can Luke Duke it outta the car.

2003 bmw 325i keys does not unlock and the door wont open how do i find a central locking system if im completely locked out?

insert the key into the drivers side or passender side front door, twist the key and pull open on the handle at the same time and the door will open. It might take a few times to get it, but this does work, source BMW AG Munich.
