SOURCE: my lg washing machine is a semi automatic model

Sounds like a pump or drain hose blockage.. Check filter. Could also be the pump motor. The more resent synchronous pump motors get detritus inside them and gradually 'gunk up'. You may be able to drain the machine by lowering the drain hose and allowing gravity to help. this won't work if the drain hose is mounted high at rear of machine......Nomess

SOURCE: Our Electrolux washing machine of

if the noise your describing is a grinding rumbling sound when you turn the drum it is likely the main drum bearing have failed. you can usually detect play in the bearing by lifting the drum and seeing what movement there is compared to door seal area .1mm is the maximum 2mm would give 6mths to 12mths 6mm failure imminent.

Dryer not working

Please mention the model of the machine. If this is a semi type then the motor or the timer switch can be faulty or if this is an automatic type it can be a fault on the program timer unit.

My washer had stopped spinning about two weeks ago, we replaced thecoupler and it worked fine but today it stopped spinning again

1
Unplug the washing machine, and turn off the water supply to the machine. If necessary, remove the water hoses from the back of the washing machine because they may be in the way of the access panel.
2
Check that the agitator is seated correctly by opening the lid of the washing machine. If it's loose, pop off the top of the agitator--if there is one--and tighten the bolt that holds the agitator in place. Or, in some models, simply pull straight up and then reseat the agitator.
3
Remove the access panel located in the back of the washing machine by unscrewing the screws holding it in place. This allows access to the drive motor.
4
Press on the drive belt that works the agitator. If the belt moves more than 3/4 inch, tighten the belt to fix the spinner problem. If the belt is worn or cracked, replace the belt.
5
Replace the drive motor, if tightening or replacing the drive belt doesn't fix the agitator. Purchase a new drive motor at a wholesale retailer. Disconnect wiring, remove screws holding motor in place and insert new motor. Screw into place, and connect wiring.
6
Check for any black substance leaking under the washing machine. This might indicate a clutch problem, if the washing machine spinner is not working. Contact a professional repairman to replace the clutch.

Which is better a top loader or front loader washing machine?

Front Loading Washing Machine: Fully automatic.
1. Better washing than toploading as technologically proofed.
2. No extra effort except putting cloths and detergent inside.
3. No need to observe in between while washing. Start and forgot. You can go market and come back.
4. No issue if electricity or water went out during washing.
4. Take more water compare to toploading semi-automatic.
5. You can not open it once it started.

Top Loading Washing Machine: Semi
1. Save water and detergent.
2. Need extra effort to put the cloth from one box to another.
