Question about Beverage-Air Refrigerators
I just got a used Beverage Air kegerator model BM23. I am not sure what is wrong with it, I can get the compressor fan located in the bottom/back to turn on and it gets really cold, however it will not turn itself off. The copper coolant lines get frozen and the thing will not turn off by itself just keeps getting colder. Other than that it seems to work fine. Any suggestions or troubleshooting tips would be appreciated.
Yes sounds like a bad defrost terminator or timer?
not allowing it to go into defrost so compressor runs all the time and it frreezes up

It can take a very long time to get a keg of beer down in temperature. The heat transfer from a keg is slow due to the lack of air circulation inside the keg. You should also check your condenser coils, make sure they are clean. Door gasket should also be in good repair. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I have a BM23 Beverage-Air
electrician do one thing, electricity. If the unit cools, the compressor is running. a power outage should not put the compressor in a "Weaken" state. I would check the starting components. don't overlook your surge protector causing a voltage drop. try running the unit without the protector.
let me know if I can be of any further help.

as a general rule, coolers have the fans run 24/7. Freezers will have the fans shut off during the defrost cycle. If unit maintain temp., I'd not be concerned by it.
