Question about Acer Extensa 5630-6806 Notebook
My laptop had its hard drive and ram removed and put back in. when the power button is pressed all the aplicable leds illuminate and the hard disk spis for about a second, but no BIOS load. I tryed with an external monior but nothing still. It is a work laptop so please help.
The problem maybe the RAM, it could be faulty or just needs
reseating to make proper electrical contact.
Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you.
Just like you sometimes need a mechanic to repair your car, sometimes you do need a technician to diagnose and identify the fault or faults on your computer. Not only does a good service technican have the experience to deal with this type of problem, they also have the equipment that allows them to look at things the average computer user can't see, and he has a collection of replacement parts that can be used to quickly test individual components on your computer.

SOURCE: Acer Extensa 5630 not booting
seems you have two problems
the ribbon cable on the lcd may be loose,
or need replacing ,
also check the pin in the dc jack if it moves at all or need to wiggle the ac adapter,it could be bad jack, but first make sure the ac adapter end is not bad, as the hole in the end gets bigger , it may not be connecting right

since you reseated the memory, the last two things I would do is remove the hard drive and dvd drive.
If you remove those and you can't get video then the motherboard is bad.

Put recovery disc in and while system is starting press F12 key repeatedly until boot menu appears then select boot from CD

re seat the memory cards, clean them if necessary with pencil eraser (the metal connector on mem card), if it won't work, you might need to replace them with the new ones
