Question about xheli 9053 Outdoor Volitation Metal Helicopter
As a result of unintentionally reversing polarity to the helicopter (don't ask), a small puff of smoke emitted from the control board. Replaced with a new one and flew okay for about 15 seconds and then the throttle control via LH stick became erratic. Would lose complete power for a second then be okay. When shutting down power, completely off via stick, it would continue running. Control functions via RH stick all okay, just power control problems. Sent panel back, and new one did same thing. Transmitter okay as used another one I have with same freq and same problem with heli operation. Any comments before I go back and try convincing vendor I have two bad control boards in a row?

It sounds like you just got it. Be sure your battery is fully charged. Its probably a "Lipo / ?". They put out very high current but drain quickly. On the larger copters, some functions will work partially or stop completely before other functions when they are low on charge. If its RTF out of the box and you just got, give the battery at least a 3 hour charge and try it again. If that doesn't work then, I would take it back for a replacement. If its not new and we need to trouble shoot, I have a lot of writing to look forward to. I fly an AH-64 attack chopper and a dual tower sky crane. I just finished repairing my crashed sky crane this morning. No more plastic for me. Let me know when you are ready. Today or whenever. We will get it done. Also. you will need a volt meter, small diameter Philips screw driver and a logic probe would be easiest to use if we need to check any PC boards. Good luck with the battery! I'm here if not. Roger
