I had the same problem, basically error -1 is telling you that you need to do soething before you try and restore it. Have you tried installing the latest iTunes and then shutting down your computer, then trying to restore it again?

Iphone 3Gs is just lifeless no sound nothing....Itunes recognizes it and says its in recovery mode and it needs to be updated and restored so I press restore and it starts downloading or something for...

Error 21 is most commonly encountered if you backed up the phone with jailbroken software and then try to restore the jailbroken software. If that's what you're trying to do, I would advise against it. Try to restore from a non-jailbroken image instead.
If that's not what you're doing, there's some other reason that your restoring image has been corrupted, and I'd recommend restoring from another computer, but that would sadly mean starting over from scratch with all your saved data.

Basically my iphone wont rsetore everytime i want to retore it will come up with an error

Step 1: Find out which generation your iPhone is by looking at this link http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3939
Step 2: Download the correct generation with the most up-to-date number, the higher the number, the more up-to-date it is. Example: A 3GS iPhone, that would be the most up-to-date would be iPhone 3GS (4.2.1/8C148a). The 3GS tells it that it is the iPhone 3GS. The part I have put in bold, is the update number, the higher that number is, the more recent it is.
Step 3: Go into iTunes, with your iPhone plugged in, go to the left side of the screen, scroll down and select your iPod.
Step 4: The right side of your screen should now show the general iPhone information. Scroll down the screen on the right side until you see a button that says "Restore". Hold down the SHIFT KEY on your keyboard and click "Restore" on your screen. This will pop up a menu.
Step 5: From that menu, choose the update you just downloaded and hit OK. Your iPhone will now be restored. After a few minutes, you will be greeted with a welcome screen to re-sync your iPhone.
This is the only method that seems to work.

My iphone 3gs suddenly turn off and won't turn on

You need a new logic board. Apple should give you a replacement. If you're out warranty, you can try to open it and replace the logic board yourself. You can get the part at iPad Repair and there is a guide that shows you how to open a kindle and install parts at iPad Repair Guide.
