Why do you need to connect you PSP to your computer in the first place ? To transfer files (video, game iso etc) to your memory stick ? Can you not using a USB drive that support Sony Memory Stick instead ? Yes, I sell 4 GB memory stick for less !!

As long as you have connected the usb lead and tried in different ports, make sure you are selecting USB Connection in the settings menu on the psp, it should then connect, but some older pc's may not have enough voltage sent to the usb ports to read the psp, if this is so you will need to buy a powered usb hub.

Hi Oligan10,
Attached below are 10 easy steps to get you started in playing your favorite music using your PSP.
step 1 Take a USB 2.0 cable and connect the PSP to your computer step 2 Press the home button on the PSP step 3 Use the left and right buttons to find Settings ( select by pressing the X button ) step 4 Select USB Connection -Your computer will notify you that a new USB device has been connected This should show up as a new hard drive with a corresponding letter identifier step 5 On your computer, select the correct drive letter and open PSP file system step 6 Create a new folder and call it PSP step 7 Go inside this new PSP folder and create another folder. Name it MUSIC step 8 On your computer hard drive, Select the MP3 music files that you want to transfer and save it into the MUSIC folder that you have just created step 9 Disconnect the PSP from your computer by pressing the O button step 10 Unplug the USB cable.

My psp can connect to my computer..

This is the way I did mine and it worked. Put the PSP into USB mode. Press the HOME button located on the bottom left of your PSP and then scroll left to the SETTINGS column. Scroll down to USB CONNECTION and press X. The Memory Stick inside your PSP will now mount on toyour computer. Hope this helps.

Chargind psp

If it’s the 2000 series (PSP Slim), then yes. Connect your PSP system to an available USB port on your computer. Turn on your PSP, then under “Settings“, select “USB Connection”. Your PSP should connect to your computer and start charging. It may take awhile, but it will charge it all the way. Hold the display button (The button with the rectangular shape at the bottom of your PSP) until the screen goes black. This will speed up the charging process and is a good method of prolonging battery life when listening to music or other things.

If that doesn’t work, try looking for an adapter lying around your house that matches the volt numbers. The PSP takes 5V. Most portable CD players use 5V adapters and are usually the same size as needed for the PSP. I suggest using an adapter that matches the volt number and fits without trouble. If the orange light doesn’t come on or the PSP acts weird after charging, I’d stop using the adapter. Ask me any questions if you have any. ;)

Cant get games to play on my sons psp

This may be a number of problems. The disc might be scratched or damaged. Or there could be dust on the leans.

You say it's a second hand PSP? In that case, you may need to repare it. I'm not quite sure where to go to get repares. Sorry.

I cant figure this out

it is like as crash of psp system, If this is the first time you've used the Memory Stick Duo, you must format it with psp to create the proper PSP folder structure. Copy the music/audio files from your computer into the MUSIC folder inside the PSP folder on your Memory,

You can save and play music/audio on your PSP system in the following file formats:
MP3, MP4, ATRAC3plus, WAV, WMA. press triangle for Display or hide the control panel. you can visit http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/PSP/Music/s_psp_mu_CF.html for more helps. hope this helps.
