Detects monitor but no video

Hi there.
Due to Nvidia's architecture limitation, you can only use a maximum of 2 monitors on 1 graphics card. In order to run 3 monitors you will need to SLI your 570 with another 570. This can be extreamly costly.
If you want a cheap route to get a 3rd monitor, use a USB to DVI connection on the third monitor, it's great and cheaper than buying another card if you just want a monitor for basic use and not gaming. If you want to game with it then you're going to have to SLI with another card.

Got a dc7600, need to add 2 more monitors, as video cards in my other computers will not fit (too large for slot)..if i can , i need a video card with two slots to attach both monitors or get 2 video...

Which part of the video-cards are "too large" -- the electronic circuitry, or just the "spine"?

If just the "spine" is too tall, then unscrew the spine from the card, and attach a shorter spine.
Or, if you are "brave", then run "*****" -- don't attach any "spine" to the video-card.
Just connect the VGA/DVI cable from the monitor directly to the video-card.

INstalled video card to D945 Intel board, and now the onboard video does not work. I wish to run 2 monitors with same input.

Unfortunately most basic motherboard chipsets do not support multiple monitor setups.

They are designed to become inactive when you connect a slot based video card.

to use 2 monitors you would need to connect them both to the card in the slot if it supports dual monitors.

When I have two monitors plugged in, machine starts three times: first just a fan noise for a 5 seconds or so and power down, second (starts by itself) also fan noise and shut down, third (starts by...

  1. If the system has integrated video with a DVI expansion card, you can use two monitors.
  2. If the system has a PCI-E dual head video card (2 video connections on the video expansion card) then you can use 2 monitors.
  3. If the system has a single head PCI-E video card (ATI HD2400) with a single DVI port, then that card disables the on-board VGA port.
So first you have to find out what the hardware configuration actually is for the Video Card. Then we can look at the monitors and how they are connected.
Post back with details on the video card and the monitors you are trying to connect if you need further information.

Will video card Divice SiS 661FX support two monitors?

Please confirm what Video card do you have, it seems you have an Integrated VGA adapter, and it may not have option to connect 2 monitors. You might need to use a Video splitter (A device to use multiple monitors) to use 2 monitor.

I want to put 4 monitors on my dell 4600

You need a video card capable of supporting four monitors. This is usually done with an SLI setup where the motherboard supports multiple video cards and each card supports two monitors instead of four, but the 4600 does not support SLI. Check out this link for a list of cards and methods that will work.

Flashing lines down the right hand side of my monitor

It could be two things.

1. The graphics card is failing.

2. The monitor is exhibiting a defect.

If you have graphics card plugged into your computer, try disconnecting the card and hook your monitor into the built in video port and see if the issue goes away. If it does, then the video card may be failing. If you dont have a seperate video card, then the monitor might be having issues itself. Of course Onboard video can display this behavior too although I have not personally seen it.

More monitors with one system unit

If the video card has 2 ports (Normally 1 VGA and 1 DVI, though some now have 2 DVI) then you can use 2 monitors.

Once connected, go to display properties, click monitor #2 and check "Extend my Desktop to this monitor" Click OK

This can be caused by:

1.The monitor is not connected properly.
2. Bad hardware

Verify that the monitor is properly connected in the back of the monitor as well as to the back of the computer.

If the connections are OK it means that monitor or the video card is probably damaged. To test which component is dameged connect a different monitor to your computer or connect your monitor to a different computer.

If the other monitor works on your computer it means that your monitor is bad and if your monitor works on another computer it means that you probably have a damaged video card.

or

The solution to your problem is probably not the monitor, follow these steps:
1. Connect and boot your computer with 2 different monitors.
2. If it does'nt work with either of them the problem is from another computer component.
Posible Problems:
1. Your video card may be damaged or moved from it's slot.
2. Your proccessor may be damaged.
Posible solutions:
1. If you have computer hardware knowledge open the case
2. Remove the Video card.
3. Insert it back or insert another video card from a friend.(if it works with your friends card, obviously the video card is the problem)
4. Restart your computer and see if it works.
Now if it does'nt work after that you will have to replace your proccessor with one that works, from a friend, because you say your computer boots but if your monitor doesn't work you don't know for sure if it boots corectly.
The steps above are only for people with hardware knowledge, if that is not your case you should contact a computer service.
